You mean it wasn't clean enough already???
I've only washed mine once. That was after spreading a tandem load of manure that was dumped in the wrong place. I told the neighbour that if they wanted that done again, don't dump it blocking the only access point.

Cut up an apple tree that fell over last summer. Finally able to do heavier work after breaking my ankle. Chipped all the limbs with the 3 point chipper. Used the forks to haul the 4’ chunks away.

Then mowed the entire area that couldn’t be mowed before. I use my wheel horse 314 for a brush cutter. Not really brush, but high grass, multi flora rose, barberry.

Trying to find a tiller so I can turn the ground over and replant as actual lawn.

Guy had a running bolens 1254? tractor with a tiller for sale locally. I was on vacation and missed it. I think it was $350. Still pissed about that.

Depending on soil conditions, a 6" bucket can be hard to empty.

I have heavy clay soil. And, unless it's bone dry, my 6" doesn't empty well.

I learned to schedule those projects for the driest time of the year. Then, it goes quite well.

The BXpanded design has shallow sides which will help with emptying.

If sticking is a problem, wait for dry conditions.

Shaking the heck out of it, is likely to loosen your bushing's up in a hurry.

If it sticks, I just tip it upside down and just tap it on the ground ...

Gets "most" of it out ...

IMG_20230302_071246100_HDR.jpg

One thing to be aware of using both the Quick-On and the narrow 6" bucket ... It's "possible" to snatch the pin out of the Quick-On ... !

IMG_20240222_075013471~2.jpg

I did add one of Kenny's Bolt on Hooks to the factory bucket ... Comes in handy! Even though I had to do a bit of digging on this 25 plus year old set post, setting the bucket on the ground, and "rolling " it back, got it started up ...

Caught a thieving opossum in my barn this morning ... So I switched out the QH for the BH and headed out to the fence corner where I plan to plant an Forsythia bush in the spring . . . We've had less than 2/3" of rain in the last 2 months, and the clay is quite hard, so I brought a long my 6" bucket and the ripper . . . Gonna make some awesome opossum fertilizer!

The factory 12" bucket was having trouble digging . . .

IMG_20250831_071302909.jpg

So I tried the 6" . . . as this was the best the 12" did after many tries!

IMG_20250831_071608274.jpg

A little bit better, but not much, and it didn't like the sod ...

IMG_20250831_071921989.jpg

Put the ripper on and LOOSENED it up!

IMG_20250831_072058516.jpg

IMG_20250831_072343654.jpg

Then switched back to the 12" and cleaned it out!

IMG_20250831_073553621.jpg

It's only 30" - 32" deep ... I dropped the fertilizer in, then tossed the sod in, then back filled ...

I then came down to the garage for some maintenance on poor Little Baby Fergie ...

A few weeks ago I was out watering and was backing up on uneven terrain and it started to spin, I put it in 4X4 still wouldn't go, locked in the rear axle ... Still spun ... Then I noticed both front tires were pointed out! My left side tie rod end had popped out, the nut was missing ... I had to finish ... So I did a "field repair!

The threads were already buggered up, so I grabbed a few washers and some wire and tied it together ... And ordered two new tie rod ends, as both were pretty tore up from brush hogging over multi-flora ros
es!
IMG_20250831_080849534.jpg

I also stuck a piece of wire though the right side one, as that didn't have anything securing the castle but, not sure if it ever had one, or if I snatched it out while brush hogging ... ? Does your have a cotter pin in it?

IMG_20250831_081003288.jpg

The tie rods don't come with new nuts, washer or cotter pin, they are separate ...

IMG_20250831_081335888.jpg

The old one was not really wore out, but I didn't mind tossing it in the trash!

IMG_20250831_081354634.jpg

Got both sides replaced, and used a hypodermic needle on the end of my grease gun to give both 4 pumps of grease ...

Then greased the rest of the TLB, as I have a few pins that need me to move the boom to get them to take grease, .. . Then switched back to the QH and ready to water now that the totes are almost filled ...

Got another 650 gallons of water out to the trees today ... Takes about 50 minutes running the well and garden hose to fill the trailer tote to about 150 gallons, compared to 1 minute if there is water in the creek I can pump out!

Got to swing by home again today ... Gave Little Baby Fergie a workout!

Last night shortly before coming in from my creek project I noticed the BH control tower was wobbly, rocking forward and back, this morning I took the plastic cover off, and 2 of the 4 mounting tabs have cracked!

IMG_20250906_041026544.jpg

While I could weld it mounted on the tractor, I prefer to wait until I take it off to weld it ... In the meantime I used a rachet strap to secure it!

IMG_20250906_041510229.jpg

I then went out to work on my Kubota, Little Baby Fergie helped me carry stuff from the garage ...

IMG_20250906_045407862.jpg

I then loaded her with supplies to put a bag of concrete around two of my corner survey pins, one is down in the creek! I wanted to do it while it is still dry!

I dropped a lug nut over the piece of rebar, then added two old bolts, to increase the metal content, to make finding later easier

IMG_20250906_070106763.jpg

Then went out front, while there is a 4" steel fence post right there, I figured it would preserve it, plus make trimming around it easier ...

IMG_20250906_073442894.jpg

Then we went back to the creek project ... More details in link in previous post ...

While down there putting the ripper tooth on, I noticed the BH said "Made in USA" ... I know the tractor was made in Indonesia (2021) so I looked at the loader, and was disappointed when I read "Made in PRC" which I interpreted as "Peoples Republic of China"! What's yours say?

Nevertheless ... The loader is quite simple, and has been holding up good!

Started out this morning with lifting the Z-TRAK up to touch up the blades ...

IMG_20250913_063605007.jpg

Then had to rescue the John Deere due to operator error! I was trying to get some of weeds that had grown up under the deck, and bumped, and broke some of the railing with the ROPS, which pushed the nose into the wall! I couldn't back up, just spun!

So Little Baby Fergie to the Rescue!

All better now!

Probably didn't help that I had been collecting rock out of the front drainage ditch earlier ... ? I did dig quite a hole though, for turf tires!

old gc2400 was instrumental in building 4 tomato trellis, each 8ft long and hinged for storage.
used tractor to haul the lumber up, stabilize the 2 halves while joining, carry down to garden and test using bucket to place. then carrying to storage area for winter.
odds are next plant season I will not be able to physically build these so I did it and tested it now.

each half is 2 2x4x8 nailed to 2 2x4x4 end pieces. then the hinges placed at top of the uprights and old wire fencing installed. 1ft 2x3 nailed to hold fencing in place, 6 per side. these also give me stacking room.

trellis-2.jpg

can carry 2 at a time orientated to place or 1 at a time oriented to stack.

all ready for May 2026....

I got another 350 gallons of water out to the trees again today, was pleasantly surprised to see I got figs! Just planted them this spring!

IMG_20250914_100333208.jpg

Most of my trees are out in the open, the deer have done a number on a few of them, with rubbing their antlers on them ... Not sure if it will make it or not, I gave it a good drink of water anyways! I had just 10 days ago taken the wire surround off, as it was restricting growth ...

IMG_20250914_075357583.jpg

I left the backhoe on, as I was going to be digging in the creek watering hole again this afternoon, the stabilizers make adjusting the side to side pitch easy, to get the last bit of water out!

IMG_20250914_083704730.jpg

Then I dug out the creek banks some more ...

I got a RetailRems side step for my gc. Definitely going to be nice in the winter.

Also ordered their sentinel hydro fan guard. I actually ordered the wrong one and had to ship it back. So, just waiting on the correct one.

I got to swing by home today for a long lunch break ... I loaded up Little Baby Fergie with supplies and tools to expand my "orchard" electric fence, I have some figs that should be ripening sometime this fall, since these will be my 1st ones, I don't want to share them with the rotten raccoons!

I added a strand about 6" off the ground, but ran out of wire, I will put another one at 12" once I get home next ...

IMG_20250922_110523529.jpg

This should discourage the little bandits!

IMG_20250922_110448928.jpg

That's 9,900 volts!

Then I drove over to look at the creek project, we got .94" of rain last night ...

Bought new Kubota rear R4 tires and wheels for my GC2610. The rear wheels are now orange to match the front. I needed them NOW, so didn't shop around too much. The original wheels rusted right through to the point they were unusable. I believe this was because they were filled with calcium. I got beet juice as I was told it was non corrosive. With a gallon of hydraulic fluid it came to a bit over $1200.00 (Canadian). More than I've spent in repairs and maintenance since I bought it in 2010.

Had a tree that I wanted to trim to get my cabbed Kubota underneath it to mow ...

IMG_20251002_090409053.jpg

Used the pole pruner mostly, but the chainsaw on a couple of the bigger ones I could reach ...

IMG_20251002_092014901.jpg

While this would have been easier if I had a grapple, I don't ... And not enough of this kind of work here to justify one ... Forks worked fine, and the thumb too ... I dropped the logs off at a different place ... Four loads total

IMG_20251002_100022470.jpg

Looks better now, I also removed the boards the previous owner left behind, nails included!

IMG_20251002_104948699~2.jpg

Later I swing by with my new to me "Big Lawnmower" ... It fits!
