Toolcat GenA down - all of a sudden won't start - need help with ground

I've gotten better pictures to try and show where the wire is coming from. It's not from the battery, it's off of the harness that goes to the starter. This is the view with the drivers seat removed: In the background, you can see the starter with the positive cable connected to it: Here...

Toolcat GenA down - all of a sudden won't start - need help with ground

I will check resistance later today. Regarding the wire in question, the starter is in the background of that picture - so that wire is coming from the harness going to the starter. I can see the big ground wire on the starter housing - I'm not sure where my loose wire goes.

I don't know where that ground should go. If someone could look - that may be a good starting point.

Toolcat GenA down - all of a sudden won't start - need help with ground

I'm at a loss on this - Background - toolcat was running fine, I did have errors codes (50-13/14/15) due to wheel speed sensors but it wasn't bothering me so I kept running it. Went to move the toolcat yesterday and, when turning the key, the starter would just clunk. I cleaned terminals and...

2 post or 4 post vehicle lift ideas

I'll chime in as well - went through this same dilemma when adding one to my shop. It depends on what you want it for and what your situation is. I am almost always working by myself. I mainly use the lift for routine maintenance and smaller repairs (exhaust, brakes, wheel bearings, etc) In...

Blowing fuse 2 sw power on toolcat 5600

I just fixed this on my machine - check the resistance of the solenoids to find which one is shorted to ground. You should be able to just turn off all wheel steer instead of unplugging the switch.

    Troubleshoot a 7 pin snowblower

Long story short (after switching attachments on different machines, etc) turns out the attachment side 7pin had a loose connection. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

    Troubleshoot a 7 pin snowblower

I'm not an expert but here is what I know about the 7 pin: Yes, the 7 pin setup operates off of a CAN bus system (and is one of the reasons bobcat attachments are so expensive, b/c you need a controller to interpret the CAN bus signals vs something like a 14 pin connector that just fires 12v)...

    Troubleshoot a 7 pin snowblower

Can you post up a picture of it? I was using voltmeter to see if 12v was getting there it was, now it isn't. I think harness, wire or controller on attachment.

    Troubleshoot a 7 pin snowblower

A friend of mine has a '18 toolcat with an older 72" SB200 snowblower on it. When it's hooked up, auger works but chute won't rotate nor will the hydraulic cylinder operate. I began by checking for 12v at the machine 7pin, which there was. The bobcat CAN bus will send a signal to the control...

50-56 found bad solenoid, how do I remove it?

50-56 found bad solenoid, how do I remove it?

Thank you - I removed the other solenoid to see how it was put together. Then I realized it was an aluminum nut. In short, I figured the nut must have been damaged or stripped. I pried on the solenoid and was able to get the nut off. Verified threads are good on the stud by using other nut...

50-56 found bad solenoid, how do I remove it?

Friends, Had a 50-56 error which lead me to finding a solution here - a solenoid on the steering and cargo box block is bad (almost shorting to zero) causing a fuse to blow, causing the error. My question is, how do you remove the solenoid? The nut is loose but it just spins. The top (or...

2003 Toolcat - 1st Gen speed sensor question

Has anyone found a replacement for the 1st gen speed sensors? I looked at my front axle one and there is wear on the face. I'm also getting error codes showing both sensors aren't being read. I've tried cleaning connectors but it hasn't made a difference. Bobcat was $500 for the sensors and...

Question about cylinder head on first gen toolcat with Kubota V2203

I did not. I was told they could be reused. The manual I have states torque to 68.7 to 72.3 ft/lbs. I thought you needed new head bolts if you torque and then turn X degrees. I'll probably order new ones.

Buying Advice  Toolcat 5600 A with 2900 hours?

I'm thinking of selling my S175 and going to a toolcat (private owner, 20 acre hobby farm in the country). The TC in question has 2900 hours and is an A series. With the drive motor issues they had in the past, I would think at 2900 hours those issues would have already been addressed. Any...

    QA FEL Snowblower

I'm a little confused on your post - I'm not sure if you're trying to make suggestions on how to improve it or simply saying it won't work? I've used this engine and blower setup last year and it cleared a record snowfall in the UP of MI. The problem was it wasn't "geared" correctly. I could...

    QA FEL Snowblower

The blower is 5' wide. Here is the first picture, not the best as my cell phone was dying and I couldn't use the flash. It's belt driven to a carrier shaft. That shaft is chain driven to the snowblower itself. I was having two main issues: 1) it was throwing the belts. I *think* I have it...

    QA FEL Snowblower

Here is my T293 with a converted 3 point snow blower to QA. The blower is an older farm king with a 23hp Briggs and Stratton Vanguard. The advantage to this vs PTO driven is ease of removal. If I want to put the bucket back on to move snow around, same QA procedure. The downside is this...

Plowing Snow with a T293 Who Does and How

Slightly OT- I bought an old 3pt snowblower and converted it to a QA. This is the first year I'll use the tractor with that blower (I used a ranger to push the blower last year). It used to take me anywhere from 30-45 min to clear our drive (~450 ft) from the time I left the house to the time...
