    replacement battery 3720

I just saw this and for closure I finally, this winter, had the dreaded click again and even though i got it started and it would start when it wasn't really cold I took it as a sign and replaced. Since I got 12 years on the original i just replaced with 1 form my dealer.

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

I had read somewhere that the conventional set-ups worked better in a situation where the snow is deeper or you are clearing a long lane- as the old ones could process more volume and depth. For contractors those advantages don't apply as they will keep up with the storm and are largely doing...

Correct and bluejay is the only one set-up to modify the chains so the answer I got on those chains for 27x8.5x15 was a no from wesco and i'll get 'er done for you right away from bluejay. They get a thumbs up from me so far

    sources for quality front chains?

To round this thread out- I have heading to me a shortened alloy diamond chain with wear bars from Bluejay- they were helpful and fast and quite reasonable they look like this - 153$ shipped- which seems great hopefully they work well
  14. F

    sources for quality front chains?

John- you were right, they can be shortened and wesco had a style that looked good - they said they couldn't be shipped but it turns out the get them from Blue Jay who will so -win Thanks
  15. F

    sources for quality front chains?

Bluejay for the win - thanks you They have been great- they had hardened diamond pattern chains with wear studs (looks kinda like an aquiline of OFA) that they adapted from 27x9-14 and they are one the way to me for a better price shipped than many of the 4 link regular chain ladders i was seeing.
  16. F

Who is excited for snow season? Not us! We're depressed due to lack of snow.

That is a good price on those, did not realize they carried aqualine I wasn't so lucky with the slop- it was wet but not melting- glad i plowed it now that everything froze up
  17. F

Who is excited for snow season? Not us! We're depressed due to lack of snow.

OP, the guys at Bluejay told me that running chains loose really helps with dropping the snow in the pattern I have OFA easy on 5's and their recommendations were to run loose enough to at least stick a fist under- seems to work great They are quite similar to the chains you are getting so i...

    3ph raises then drops suddenly-3720

interestingly i notice that the machine is slightly faster today- 6.9 vs 6.2 yesterday under same conditions and feels much better. Guess the lesson is to keep the fluid up oil the upper half- I wonder if somehow the dipstick is off or something?
  19. F

    3ph raises then drops suddenly-3720

Thanks all- even though the fluid was in the indicated range, it was near the bottom so i brough it up to the dead middle (guessing 3 quart) and now its seems to work- guess we will see in the am. if it still does.
  20. F

    3ph raises then drops suddenly-3720

it lowers at the same rate it has been, same with raising. No weird sounds. Don't want to put the blower back there till i get this solved
  21. F

    3ph raises then drops suddenly-3720

I only notice it when at full height, right after raising it- i think it may inch back top then If i cycle it it seems to raise fine- It may be occurring when i start to move while raising. I want to try to avoid doing damage trying a ton of scenarios, but if the risk is low i could experiment
  22. F

    3ph raises then drops suddenly-3720

was using the back blade to clear some snow this am and i noticed that every once in a while i would raise the back blade and i would come up to full height then drop a small a mount suddenly and catch again. Fluid levels seems fine and fluid is clear. All other operations seem normal. This just...

Op, I believe i bought chains for that exact tire size from Windy ridge in New hampshire (was a recommendation in some other tire chain thread years ago) They are OFA- euro style (easy-on?) but a lower profile that also works well on pavement. They have been great and at the time were much less...

Cutting ATV trails into cross slopes

    Re-blow with pull behind snowblower.

I blow to the rear sometimes when it will go far enough clear but I never blow and re-blow- you could do that but it seems awkward. I often recycle which is when you blow in-between tractor and blower - if the building is short and the snow not too deep that could work

    Tractor Chains---Off the Wall Question

Bookman, I highly recommend the eurostyle chains vs studding or ladder- they are much smoother, provide great traction and seem to wear really well even on my paved drive. Airbiscuit, thanks for the info. Looks like a nice add on. Leon, Thanks for the suggestion but I have had the blower for maybe 9 years now so there really is not a sales order in my future if I go that way. I would take a hard look at what pronovost is doing on their models with wings to...

Snow Blower Sizing - Opinions Wanted

Does anyone have experience on wings on an inverted blower, or i guess any blower? I may end end with a wider tractor and would prefer not to get a new blower for a few more inches. 46. F

Snow Blower Sizing - Opinions Wanted

Mostly agree, I'm guessing that like many things, snow throughput is non-linear as one approaches the max throughput of the fan and chute. Width is important as some minimum is necessary due to tractor width but also rarely discussed are fan size and depth. A larger fan will sweep more volume...

Snow Blower Sizing - Opinions Wanted

I guess what i was trying to say is that for smaller storms I'm getting done as quickly blowing as i would blading. i wouldn't be down to 2 mph till maybe 10-12 inches and at that depth my rear blade starts becoming slower too with the additional handling needed. Sounds like your storms may be...

Snow Blower Sizing - Opinions Wanted

I think that justifying the cost is dependent on how and how often you use a blower. Many who are used to the old fashioned push blower or find blowing slow with a front blower consider them as a tool to use after other options such as blades, plows etc are no longer useful. In that context of...

Here that multi ft snow just isn't common. We've had only maybe 3 2-3 ft snows in the 17 years we've been here. Wind also is not a big factor. Since typically they weigh a fair amount -mine is circa 1000 lbs and they have a cutting edge that they ride on they do pretty well- depending on angle of attack. Chains  Looking for front chain suggestions

Have already worn out the tire chains.com front chains on my 27x8.5-15 r-4's When they arrived it was obvious that they were not in any way beefy enough (I think that they were intended for a lawn tractor) but I used them anyway. So now I need a new set, usage is on pavement so ride quality...

    restricting flow

i have a jd 3720 and a pronovost pull snow blower, at operating speeds the chute rotation is way way too fast and the diverter action is also too quick. I have been thinking of restricting the flow but wondering about the best way to accomplish it. I see that there are fixed orifices and...

    arrrrrrrgh, think i screwed up

so i went to test the relief pressure on the cushion valve on my chute rotator and could not get any change either with screw all the way in or out. And a fitting that had previously not been leaking was now leaking like a sieve. So i pull the connections and inside it appears that some portion...

setting a fusion valve relief and testing system pressure

My new pronovost blower has cushion valves on the rotator and i need to set them. Have been thinking about getting a 5000 psi valve and teeing it in between a male and female QD fitting , seems like this would indicate the pressure in the lines to the rotator as it relieves. Wouldn't this set up...

    moving up from B3030

Have had a B3030 for about 9 years, been a great tractor but always seemed a bit too light/small. Originally got that model due to hp at PTO with small, maneuverable size. Current main/ most important use is clearing my 1/2 mile drive and my neighbors offshoots. For this its been ok but we...

    B3030 seat problem

I can't seem to keep the edging material (I think it may be called trim-lok) in place around the edge of my seat. Once enough of it comes off it becomes a bear to get back on over the seat covering around the corners. I am thinking of contact cementing the actual seat material to the metal seat...
