    Here we had the EAB years ago and ALL of the ash are dead here, been burning it for years. Ash burns nice but as noted before cherry etc is better, hotter with better coals. And yes, ash makes more ash but I clean the ash tray daily anyway.

    Crow's foot wrench almost worked on hose removal on cylinder end but it was frozen and rounded off. Pulled the steering cylinder, with the vise and heat the hoses came off. Now all that is left is get new hoses and put everything back together:

    Bit the bullet and pulled the battery and radiator, easy, took me an hour and I work slow these days. It will be easy to replace the hoses now:

    Thanks, I hadn't thought about those. Might work, have to look again with those in mind. I'm almost resigned to pulling the radiator, a little more work but straight forward.

    1. Yes, the brakes should clear. 2. Did you give it time to clear the air out of the cylinders? They will self bleed the air. 3. Try switching hoses at the quick connects? If no luck, a photo of what you have would help folks figure it out. Good luck!

    I'll jump in here about totes: love them, tall 330 I measure as 3/8 cord stacked even with top, shorts at 1/4 cord, cut the plastic tank to make tops, can't lift with fel only the 3 pt, all stored outside. I go from splitter to tote, tote to house. Haven't found a better way. Oh, totes here go...

    Good point Ruffdog. Sometimes I have to wiggle the key before the indicator light will come on in the "run" key position, and then the timer will function.

    Well, on mine the glow plug indicator light comes on with the key and goes out after 4 seconds and then is ready to start. Either your glow plugs or the relay are not working. I'm not sure how to diagnose it.

    Well, I found a used JD 4 foot tiller so that is what I use. Width of tires is 60", but the tire tracks really don't matter that much, works fine.

    Oldpath, it is pretty easy to make a kiln for small production: build a box with sheets of insulation board, tape edges with silver tape, and place a small dehumidifier inside with drain outside, works great!

    The paint/coating on the radiator fins has peeled off and is rusting in several areas. Should I try to repaint it or is this fairly normal wear and tear? Not sure if I'm just borrowing sorrow or does this need to be addressed. Thanks. No significant snow yet in Washington Co. MD...
