I have found that 811 locate is very good and prompt. Free and no hassle. Advice I was given by the locate guy was to take photographs of the dig and locate area with markers and to include any locate lines that were marked and the utilities could not claim you dug without getting it marked...
In my state you have to apply and have a burn permit. You have to check everyday before ignition if your area allows a burn to start. If you lose control and the fire department shows up then you pay for the cost of the fire suppression effort at a minimum.
Where can you buy the normal version anymore? I agree that office 365 sucks , but the whole subscription model that all these companies are going to suck and are designed to ripoff the consumer,
I had to upgrade as some programs/application just would run anymore. In addition it was a new laptop. I am pretty sure my backup hard-drive has all the files but it screwed up Outlook as well.
Not really a good sub-forum to ask this but better that any other I could figure.
My Windows 11 computer/laptop did an update early Friday morning. Weird stuff started to happen and I finally figured out it was moving all my data files to the OneDrive cloud. Not copying them but moving them...
I saw your earlier post about Sure-Trac and thought that must be a Dexter axle model of some type but it sounds like that is not accurate. Never heard of Sure-trak. Googled it and it seems to be an east coast (Tenn) manufacturer. NO wonder I never heard of it before. Probably like you have...
Interesting my 9 Dexter axles total for 18 hubs don't have the offset cotter pin. Wonder if those offset are on heavier duty or lighter duty axles than mine. I have 4- 6K, 3- 7K and I think two are 5.2K from many years back.
Yeah I kind of ignored the suggestion as there is no cotter pin and I did not want to call it out so I just said nothing.
To the best of my knowledge EZ lubes never have cotter pins, maybe some do but not to my knowledge as the cotter pin would go right through the grease channel and block it...
I think the rubber plug would blow out way before it pushed the metal cap out. The metal cap takes a very significant effort to get in and to seat. I may try the dimple idea but has not happened in 17 years with this trailer until now and somehow it has to be tied to the brake assembly and...
I guess you missed the temp readings that were taken of the hubs. (earlier posts) It is not getting hot or even warm. I wish it was something simple like that but so far nothing is jumping out.
No it is not the rubber inner plug it is the entire metal grease/dust cap. Now having said that the rubber plug I presume went with the cap
That is for a much lighter weight axle and hub but the principle is the same. Never had this problem before and I have seen them beat up before as well
Yes they are EZ lubes. I redid all four hubs with new brakes assemblies and new inner and outer bearings and races. Reused all four grease/dust caps. Three have remained on and one was shed on the first day. Replaced with a new cap twice on return trip and shed again. Have now lost three...
Well I have an IR sensor gun that I check hub temps every time I stop. I do this on the RV as well as all three equipment trailers. I also have the Tireminder sensors for tire temps and pressure readings real time in cab. Tire air pressure which would be directly effected by hub and wheel...
I recently replaced the brakes, wheel bearings and races on my equipment trailer. Took it out for test run of about 30 miles and everything went fine.
Left on a 1000 mile round trip. About half way through I noticed that one of the grease/dust caps on the hubs had departed the trailer. Of...
As to cheater lenses for welding, it really makes an amazing difference in being able to see the puddle. I used cheaters for welding long before I used them for reading. I use a different diopter lens for stick work than I do for TIG work as my distance for where my head/eyes is significantly...
I can not speak to the unit that Mark suggested but I can speak about the quality of the machines.
I have an Everlast Powerarc 300 stick unit, an Everlast TIG 325 Ext and an Everlast PowerPlasma 80. I am very satisfied with the brand. I would suspect that the i-Mig 200 is also very good as I...
I have been with Direct TV for nearly two decades but was forced to do an upgrade to HD last June due to the deactivation of Direct TV's standard equipment and they could not repair my system. Since then I have had nothing but issues. Technically and administratively/billing. As a result I am...
My multi-meter is not one of the"cheap" ones and yes it comes on very handy so many times.
I thought back in June that it was the starter and had it tested. It tested fine. To a degree I still suspected it but it tests fine. What I don't know is if the test will detect a single bad spot...
No I have not.
As the problem with starting has evaporated once again, no point now. Next time it happens i will do that.
Thanks
Of course I will have to figure out how to get to the back of the switch. Deere has a pretty tight enclosure in the area to try to get into but that will be my...
What I mean by terminal ends: Both battery post terminals. Also: the ground terminals (5 in total) that join at the frame ground post. The positive terminals that join at the starter post (5 in total as well). I cleaned the contacts at the fuse boxes the fuse terminals and the relay...
All three places performed a load test. Battery efficiency by their load tester showed from a low of 95% up to as high as 97%. All three places verified that there was nothing wrong with the battery. The JD dealer even had one of the old style carbon pile testers that noone else has anymore...
I have had an intermittent electrical issue for several months. It manifests itself as a battery problem when the machine will not turn over. The battery was checked by three places in June and all said that it was working at 95% or above. After fighting with it for a week the problem...
I would say more than one as I am a bit older than you and I was a bit older than Carl as well.
He is truly missed and he really improved my welding skills.
I just wished I had gotten over to have him help me on my Aluminum Tig welding that he offered.
He got me started on scratch start...
It is on an electric clutch on a portable sawmill.
Thank you all for your ID help.
I will definitely look into the Packard 56 connector. Hopefully with a name now I can find it on Amazon or elsewhere.
Attached is a picture of a plug that I am trying to find. I used to see them used rather frequently but I can find nothing that even looks like it anymore in any store or on line.
Does anyone know the name or style for this plug as I am looking for the other side and am finding nothing...
Well thank you to whoever moved my post to the correct location/sub-forum. I put it where I did as I could not find a good place for it. I could not even find this sub forum when I went looking to make the original post.
Having now found the location and the setup I see that it is not my...
I have not been on for about a week. I searched and have found nothing on the topic but I am not good at searching on TBN either. My question involves the following: TBN screen/desktop whatever you want to call it is REALLY differnet and hard to deal with. Is this a change that has been made...
I thought this would be a good place to post this. There is such a large community of knowledgeable folks that maybe someone can help.
A bit long winded but here goes:
I have a piece of equipment (CTL) that has a Perkins engine in it. There is a gauge (LCD style) that displays the inlet air...
I tried the search function and struck out.
Several years ago maybe more like 7-8 years ago there was a thread on no-drill wire and cable attachment fasteners.
The kind that hold wire or split-loom as it is strung along on the frame of a trailer or truck.
Most of the time you put a small...
These are the two blades that I use most frequently. The three prong "knife" is great on grasses and other herbaceous vines and woody stems. The other is great on woody stems larger than 2 inches up to 8-10 inches. Beyond 10 inches it is a but much and I switch to a saw. It is really nice for...
I require no signal booster on my system even though the manual does address the potential need for one. My tow vehicle is a long bed crew cab so not a short truck. My RV is 35 ft long, my one equipment trailer is a total of 24 feet long and then there is this sucker which has a pretty good...
I had a quick disconnect nipple snap/breakoff while working the other day.
The equipment does have a fair amount of vibration but there are not really any side-loads applied to the QD fitting.
This was on the casedrain line not the primary flow lines.
Anyone ever have this happen to...
As treemuncher posted not a flail at all. Fecon, FAE, DENIS Cimaf all make very nice mulching heads.
Here are the three options that Fecon has for heads. It is clear they are not a flail.
What they can do is so much more.
Even if you don't do the entire 10 acres soon at least clear a good 150 -200 ft radius form the house site for "firewise"
NFPA - Firewise USA™
The posting above of Scotch broom is in a very young stage. An more mature flowering stage would be like this.
You don't need one unless you do.
Yes you can burn sometimes but maybe there is a burn ban when you want to burn. Maybe it is due to air quality, maybe due to fire risk during dry months.
Maybe you want the chips for making trails or lining trails, maybe you want to be more ecological and put...
I am not certain if Texasmark understands what a drum mulcher is. They are not a drum mower. They are not a flail.
They are specifically designed for forested/wooded areas and are applicable for clearing wooded areas and do a fantastic job.
The decision between a Fecon/FAE/Denis cimaf type...
I have a Stihl BT131 and would recommend it to anyone wanting one.
It is a well designed unit and has safety features that I doubt the Harbor freight unit has. As poster leonz mentioned if it hits something hard it can twist hard, very fast.
The Stihl unit has a clutch disconnect that you...
US Postal Service Employees and the "Electronic or Change Service Requested" notices
My question concerns the US Postal Service and its actions and the notice on many envelopes that state:
"Electronic Service Requested" or "Change Service Requested"
I hope that someone on here is an employee...
Asking for pictures of how folks have mounted their winches is pretty straight forward. :)
My trailer dimensions really are not germane :confused2: and maximum weight to be winched either as the request was for how folks did it. I did not narrow my request to only those that have identical...
I am in the process of deciding on the best method of mounting a winch on my flatbed trailer.
Since this large group of talented and creative folks have done this probably as many times and ways as there are to do it I thought I would ask folks to post picture of their trailer winch mounts.
From...
Lots of folks seem to like PJ. Lots of folks hate PJ.
Don't know if there are multiple manufacturing sites and that makes a difference but out here they are not liked very much.
I know when I was looking for my dump (which is also multi purposed as an equipment, thus the length) I found that...
I use this for just about anything big.
Before view
After view post planting
Same place but pointed a bit further to the left.
I use a brush hog for the light weight stuff
Yes it will work but length is a big issue as has been posted.
Here is what I use for my mulcher transport. Thought about another flatbed but decided to have some inter-operability.
Not exactly tractor related but know there are some folks on here that have a variety of backgrounds that can answer the question.
I have a device that has a serial connection data output. (Yes they still make those in this day and age.
It is actually a Hirose 6 pin connector on the device...
Somewhat new (very new) to Aluminum Tig welding.
When is the use of ER 4043 best?
Spec states for
Mainly used for silicon types for welding of 2014, 5052, 6061, 6101 and 6063.
When is the use of ER5356 best?
Spec states for
Mainly used where higher weld strength and greater ductility is...
As the title states.
I have always thought I knew the correct answer but have recently started to question my understanding of which and when.
HD Lithium and 3% Moly in a Lithium base grease. A recent piece of equipment I purchased stated to not use moly grease but just a "good" quality HD...
I guess this thread is a good place for this.
I drove my wife's 1997 1/2 ton Ford today and immediately noticed the brakes were not right. The pedal was pulsing as if the anti-lock system was cycling and braking seemed to be greatly reduced. I also heard what I am pretty sure is the sound of...
I have been using regular old diesel rated oil in my diesels since forever. I am an the edge of switching to synthetic in a couple of them.
The thing I have run up against is this:
manufacturer A only makes 10w-30
manufacturer B only makes 5w-40
and so on.
For gas engines and diesel as...
I have a new Fecon head that I am VERY happy with. It is so far superior to the previous mulching head I used that there is no comparison.
I do have an area of concern as I do not know the correct answer. I need to try to get in contact with Fecon tech support but so far have not been able...
You definitely want the correct kit for the job. Never saw where you posted the type of trimmer you are try to set up.
I have many many hours with both the three blade knife and the chisel tooth blade on my cutters; FS450 and FS250 doing forestry work.
One of the details that I have not...
Have not had this very long but so far I have not noticed any more tire scrubbing than with my BP flatbed equipment trailer. In addition it appears to have less than with my BP 2 axle RV trailer. I think the tire scrub issue is also a function of where/how far back the axles are placed. I do...
The title kind of states the issue.
I understand rather well how relays work and why they are used and the functionality of them.
My question is I am trying to back trace the wiring on a Kubota V2403 diesel engine that is having a few problems with the starter circuit.
It seems that Kubota...
I have a battery that has a good charge on it. Specific Gravity ranges from 1.275 to 1.285 which falls in the good range but the acid is milky in color.
Never seen battery acid that is milky in color before.
A search on line indicated that milky fluid can come from the use of limestone laced...
I am looking for a mobile cutoff tool. Basically like the standard 110 volt 7" grinder or 4.5" grinders that everyone has that you put a cut-off wheel on instead of the grinding wheel.
The need for this is on my mulching operations with a forestry/landscape mulcher. I have been using my 7"...
I have an opportunity to buy a used set of Snap-on 3/4 inch drive socket set.
It is a 29 piece 3/4" to 2 3/8" socket.
I am curious as to what some of you that are real tool hounds think it is worth. Not yet seen it but is reported to be in good condition.
Any idea what they might be worth?
What are you guys finding is the range of cost for insurance on your mulcher heads and CTL's. Of course I know the head and the CTL manufacturer effect the value and thus the cost but curious what the range of cost is running. I am in the market for one and wondering if the insurance quotes...
I have a piece of equipment that has two sets of spool valves with a bank of six on each. One of the banks of SV's has a valve/lever that is a bit prone to sticking and has to be manually returned to the neutral position. I have wondered if there is some kind of debris caught in the valve but...
For those of you that are running Fecon heads:
How many are using the HDT rotor,
how many the FGT rotor and
how many the DCR rotor?
What disadvantages are you finding with each and what advantages are you finding?
I was talking with the Fecon rep and he mentioned that there were two options for the optional door on the bullhog mulcher. One was for the diverter valve controlled trap door (more expensive) and the other was for the normally controlled door for power units (prime movers) that have...
It depends on your state's rules and how they interact with any adjacent states you may tow in. For example in my state WA the 26001 weight effects all vehicles whose GCVWR exceed 26K. However there are exceptions. If you fall under the exceptions you are ok; if not then you need a CDL.
Tow...
I put this in Rural living as the last thread Today's high school seniors.....ouch. was here and this is along the same lines.
Just had a survey phone call.:(
Most of the time I just say not interested and hang up but this time my curiosity was piqued and I stayed on the line.
The survey was...
I am looking at a drive belt tension tool. Never had one and have always used the thumb with the "that looks about right technique."
Well I have an application that I do not feel that technique is acceptable. Some would say it never is, others that it always is; but I digress and do not want...
Just thought I would throw this one out as an example of a tree that was very suppressed for the first part of it's life then started to thrive. Lots of stress in the wood but the growth can be seen with the change between 40 and 42 years of age.
Yes: Bilateral medial branch radio frequency ablation/neurotomy is a mouthful.
My wife has had lower back pain that radiates out into the upper hip/pelvis area. After many different treatments or attempted treatments by the docs they did a diagnostic bilateral medial branch block where...
Want to say hello. I have been reading the posts for a while and thought I needed to join.
I have had a rather large increase recently in my forest work and am finding that previous methods of site prep are too time and labor intensive for the additional acreage. I have been told for some...
