    Waiting on Parts from Yanmar

I have Yanmar 221 and it’s been a great tractor. Unfortunately this spring the oil pressure light came on so I took it to the dealer to have it fixed. This was a month ago. I called this morning and asked what’s happening with my unit and the said just waiting on the part. They ordered the part...

Have a Yanmar 221 with a quick hitch. When I use my Landpride Brush hog it will not lift the tail wheel end off the ground. I am sure it's not set up right. Just wondering what anyone thinks and advise.

    Everybody ready to mow?

I got my Cub out today to take care of the high spots of grass. I ended up mowing the whole lawn. I had to take the deck off to clear out all the build up so I decided to service and wash her. I didn't have the stuff to change the oil but I will do that this weekend. Michael

Everybody off to a good start?

Everyone getting off to a good start this spring? Other than trying to mow between all the storms and rain and all the branches being knocked down by all the wind we have been getting. Got my 2518 all serviced and ready to go. I still need to change the tranny filter. Going on 540 hours and...

What is a electric sleeve hitch?

I was looking at the attachment page of a Cub brochure. What types of attachments uses this? Is it different from a 3 point hitch that is used for a plow or a brush hog? I was looking at the pics in the "Plow Days" post from a while back. I thought it was kinda neat. Thanks... Michael

Oil & Fuel  Transmission Oil Changes

I have been reading some post about changing the hydro oil in the tranny. My manuel doesn't have a change interval listed. It does say change the filter every 100 hours. I just changed my filter the other day. I am guessing I had 120+ hours on it. The oil looked good and I just added about a...

Oil & Fuel  Fuel Line Insulator

The other day when I was servicing my Cub the foam insulation that covers the fuel line just fell apart. Do I need to replace this or will it be okay without it? There are 2 pieces, separated by the fuel filter. The lower side is the one that fell apart. I don't know if the heat from the engine...

    How's your winter?

How's everyone enjoying this winter? Here in N.E. Ohio we have had our share of snow and ice. I don't have a blade or snow blower so I have been using my dad's Ventrac to clear my drive. You guys that have blades. DO they work well? It would be nice (at least for me) if I had one. Michael

Teaching my son to run the Cub

I think I am going to teach my 10 year old son to mow with the Cub. I never got to use the rider until I was 13 so I am not quite sure if he is too young. I do let him drive it around the yard and he handles it really well. I have an area of my yard that is flat and nothing to mow around so I...

Oil & Fuel  No oil or heat issues here

I have read many threads about oil and high heat temps on the Kolher Command engines. I have a 20 HP in my unit. My 2518 has 331 hours on it and I have had no problems at all with the engine. The oil looks fairly clean on the dipstick and I have added oil once this season. I have had no heat...

    Cub Cadet Website

Is anyone out there "really" impressed with the CC website? I went on it the other day just because I haven't been on it in a long time. The Cub Cadet Club is definately a joke. I went to log on and after several attempts I had to re- register. I clicked on the Stories page which displayed...

    Melting Hoods

Mowing  Everyone having a good mowing season?

    Idler Pulleys

When I had my PTO replaced a few weeks back, the dealer had replaced the idler pulleys that are mounted on the front of the tractor. They were noted on the Work Order as "bad". They gave me the old pulleys back but I don't know what to look for? The old ones look fine to me but I am not as...

    Grading  Box Stores Vs Dealers

There have been alot of comments on here about buying at a box store. I believe purchasing a Lawn or Garden Tractor thru a dealer is the best way to go. I know the units are the same but you get so much more from going thru a dealer. They know the machines and will set them up properly. There...

    Shaft Drive vs Belt Drive

Just wanting to know what you all think so here goes: Are our shaft drive CC's really that much better than Belt driven models? Gator Blades

I have read many posts on here about the Gator Blades for better mulching than the 3 in 1 CC blades. I don't mulch but I wanted to know if they can be used just for discharging? Do they make them for the 44 in deck. Sure would appreciate any input :) Michael

    2006 Cub Cadet Brochure

The other day I had to get a new PTO belt at my Cub Dealer. I grabbed a 2006 CC brochure. I noticed on the 3000 series that it didn't have the out rigger wheels. What size deck is that? I thought the larger decks had those on the 2500 and 3000 series. Do the larger decks have the rubber wheels...

    Baffles necessary?????

My 2518 has the 44" deck. On the underside of the deck on the front are those baffles. Are these really necessary? After 3 years they have really taken a beating. I was thinking of removing them. Will it affect cut quality? It also seems like most of the build up occurs in this area. My...

    Clogging

I have read many posts about decks clogging. I just read a post where a guy was talking about his 3000 series plugging up. He had pictures where he was mowing and as far as I could tell the grass was 3' to 4' tall!!!!!!! No wonder he is having problems. Do most of you mow under "normal"...

    Mulch Plug

Does anyone use their mulch plug? I have never used mine. I had a Craftsman that had a mulch plug. I wasn't impressed with it at all. It seemed like it would just clump amd clog.
