Ok, so I finally got a chance to get back into the woods and I have one more firewood rack to fill so it was "playday" for the last couple! I decided I wanted to cut this tree, it was down along a small creek and a nice deer travel corridor if I made one of my little seats I can hunt from here...

I HATE that when I hit those log stops! I put a little sign up at my push handle to check for those! I don't have a debarker but then again I don't have a winch so I don't get my logs so dirty. Yeah, yours seems to be up in the air more than mine, mine sits on timbers on the ground.

Well the ones I was talking about have been somewhere in that river for years it looks like, So I'm thinking they are probably not good for a whole lot. And there does seem to be a lot of them here in my part of South Carolina! Oak, hickory and sweetgum are the main trees in my firewood...

I get some gynormous logs floating down that river!! I'm a bit amazed sometimes!

Like I said, it was a heavy leaner hanging over my saw yard. Cut the face cut and when cutting the back cut internal pressure took over and it broke loose too early! but its down now so just clean up time left.

I do NOT want to make an episode of swamp loggers!

Yeah, I tried pushing it off the stump with my tractor to no avail, finally got a couple lengths of chain so my tractor wasn't too close and pulled it off! The ground there is leaning pretty good and I don't particularly like that when I'm on the tractor, but I got it done! Now I get to buck it up!

No, I had just filled the gas and oil, made sure both caps were tight so I'm not sure. I was cutting in and around a bunch of vines so I'm guessing the cap got caught on one maybe, the cap even has a keeper (like they all do) and it still got pulled out!

Weird thing last week, got done cutting for the day and noticed I had no oil cap on my saw!! In all the years I've been cutting I have never had that happen before, ordered a new cap but after a big rain Thursday I went out and the rain washed the debris off it and I'm back in business! And now...

So got around to playing again, this time a firewood tree not a lumber tree. Its a pretty good sized sweetgum right on the edge of my saw yard. Tree down And my oddball way of marking and cutting. And started splitting this afternoon after PT.

I can absolutely see where I'm going with the bucket on, not sure what you are talking about.

When it's HOT out and I'm mowing a flat field, I'll sometimes raise the bucket a bit for better airflow to the radiator, not sure it really makes a difference, however.

Yeah, my favorite carry around here is that PMR30 in 22mag. but for right now.. the glock. Got a nice Ruger Red Hawk in 44mag as well but again it gets pretty heavy.

So I tried my suction gun, about the size of a grease gun, it would have taken me all day, maybe all week, so I pulled one of the rear plugs, oily hands but a done deal!

So I took down an oak tree to mix with that sweetgum I took down last week, the oak was not looking all that healthy anyway. Both trees measured at 100 feet tall, Yes Skeans to you thats probably just a sapling but its what I have here. :D So same cutting technique as before Sorry no stump...

Absolutely!! I run my feeders all year long, but I have to switch them off about a week before season as you cannot hunt turkeys over a feeder.
