I went to my new holland dealer to check...they want nothing to do with LS....not sure how the new holland version of the tractor is for reliability

I was looking at LS until I started digging into all the ECM issues and how poorly they are responding to them...LS basically doesn't...they tell you a regen every hour is "normal" and screwed up ECU are constantly denied warranty claims.

Thanks everyone. Finally figured it out...the manuals are of no help. Turn the chute over and carefully look at the bottom...then look at the ring...you have to "slide" the chute on from the front to get the lip to catch under the plastic AND metal ring of the blower.

That Yanmar looks very good. Integrated 3rd function controls on a joystick that is console mounted vs going all the way to the floor. rear control for the 3 pt hitch. 2500 lb lift at the pins...curved windows, all kinds of nice things. Can I asked what you paid for it? Unfortunatly no...

Sounds like LS is very hit and miss...with the ECM control being a very real roll of the dice both short and long term. We will keep fighting with TYM to get a tractor back on the farm rather than sitting in the shop. Thanks all.

Have a brand new 72 inch. the instructions are weak...have done all they say but cannot figure out how the chute is actually ATTACHED to the snowblower...it just seems to sit there.

I did some price checking...still pretty expensive compared to the T494..no free loader like LS etc...way more HP so really in a higher class of machine. Like you say rear remotes cost more, loader costs more, no rear 3 pt control outside the cab...i do like that it is not turbo charged though...

The LX is so small and has 1/2 the lift capability of the T494, not really apples to apples...the 3 point doesn't look like it can support anything.

In all honesty, the only real step up in build quality I think is to get the equivalent Kubota which is a 4760 with cab and 1055 loader...and that is not $10k more...it's nearly double the price.

So just a follow up question for all the newer TYM owners...next time you drive your tractor, put it in a full turn left or right and see if you hear/feel a slight knocking through the steering wheel as you are turning. Just curious if this is "normal" as the first original dealer said all...

This is the part we are waiting on now. Not your fault Torvy, you and others gave the best personnel experience information you had. I am concerned that all of us are driving around with thin walled hubs like this one, but even if they fail I don't think they will cause the loss of the wheel...

I see the confusion. My initial concern was the banging in the front end. Then I found the FB article about the snap rings in both front hubs that had "ears" that were defective and had been replaced by a newer version. When the 2nd dealer tore our front end apart they found metal shavings...

Study shows more regen issue threads (LS says every 2 hours is normal is one heck of a read) than I feel comfortable with. We are in very cold weather so that turbo sensitivity is a big thing. one of the big things on the 494 was the ability to easily bypass all the regen system and no sensors...

Never had a single dealer issue with the 2007 Branson...in fact that dealer went out of business over a decade ago and still never worried about it. It's different now...you have to buy the dealer and location as much as the product. Should have paid the $3,000 more to the guys an hour...

They test drove 3 new tractors on the lot and they all make the same noise...and the tech admits you can feel every "clang" in the steering wheel...he even sent recordings of all (3) tractors...none are as loud as ours, but they all do it. I don't know what TYM is doing in the front end of...

A few updates. Thanks for the suggestion to drop the bucket and raise the front tires. Once we did that it was easy to pinpoint the location at the front diff (with the engine off of course) just moving the wheels by hand you can quickly reproduce the clang. Something is not right in there...

You are right...it sounds like something major internally in the front end. It was supposed to have been brand new. We were surprised when it showed up with 8 hours on it already, but dealer said they "test them out" before they deliver to make sure they are working properly. He said they put...

Talk about devastating...13 hours on the machine and the front end clangs so loud and hard you can feel it through the steering wheel. When you first start it up, it doesn't do it....after about 10 minutes running, if you start turning in circles it starts doing it...do that for 5 minutes and...

Just to be clear the tractor I'm getting the t494hc does have a cab. It comes with a cloth seat what is everyone's thoughts on changing it to vinyl or should I stay with the cloth?

I noticed that the tym 494 series without a cab has a vinyl seat and with a cab has a cloth seat. Interestingly the Branson 4820 cab has a vinyl seat as well. My dealer is willing to swap the cloth seat for a vinyl seat before I take delivery of my 494. What is everyone's opinion of the cloth...

Back in Texas I got a chance to sit in a 4820 CH and it is definitely tighter than the kym version. Also while the tym has a three color paint scheme I noticed the 4820 only has the single color of red everywhere inside the wheels on the steps. I'm happy about our decision to go with the 494 now...

Unfortunately we don't have the breadth of choices up here that you have in Texas. Most dealers only carry a few tractors on the lot and if they order it for you it cost another $3,000 just in shipping that's not in the budget.

Thanks for the pics clover...I keep reading these reviews of the loader handle on the 494 snapping off in cold weather or when hit upon exiting the cab. That issue seems to be a non issue on the 4820 given that it is mounted in the side console off the floor...man Torvy...that is a lot of tractors!

Well that brings up another interesting point. While I've got half a dozen dealers within 100 miles of me that have t494s. There is only one dealer 250 Mi away that has the leftover 2022 Branson. Makes me wonder if they're not going to keep making the 4820 Or if it's just going to go away.

Please share your thoughts on 1 vs the other. Does anyone know if the 4820 has the rear 3 point hitch control so you don't have to get back in the cab? thanks.

I am a little bit concerned about the low implement pump capacity (7.7 gal per minute) of the T series vs the 9.9 of the 20 series. Our primary goal is to get my 81 year old father with health issues in a comfortable cab for doing brush in the summer and using a berco self powered snow blower...

clover...the 4830 has more hydraulic capacity...probably why yours bucket is fast. you are correct, they look to be heavier built than the T494. Can you provide some pics of the loader control? appears it is much heavier and located on the fender flare vs all the way to the ground.

Question, I have been reading that the hydraulics are weak on this model....reviewers state that you cannot lift and curl at the same time. I test drove one again yesterday. I noticed the bucket curl was slow compared to the 2005 branson we have and the LS347 I test drove...but i did not try...

Thanks all...guess we will not worry about the tubes. Never on grass, push lots of snow. Do fluid in rear tires and have ballast for the 3 point. Still can make all 4 spin pretty easy depending on ice/snow cover.

Drove 2 hours tonight to confirm there is NO seat height knob on any of the LS tractors at our dealer

our current tractor has tubes for the fluid...both dealers at the new ones we are looking at do not use tubes for their non corrosive fluid. Any thoughts on this?

Clover....our choice has been MT347 vs MT357 and now the the T494. What is the diff between the 4820 and the T494?

Ran all the numbers today and because of the differnence in trade allowance from the 2 dealers it is less than $500 difference between the 2...but it is hard to get past the 15 inch difference in lift height.

It appears either they removed the knob or changed the seat...or just had a shortage so did a production run without them. Looked at a TYM yesterday...it has the same knob that LS shows on their parts diagram actually ON THE SEAT :)

ok...I think I get it now...you have to use the "power beyond" function to power the direct drive 3rd function. At this level of tractor, I can't understand why they don't just include it...everyone wants it if they have a loader.

Thanks guys...looks like these are both using the "power beyond" port on the tracker so that all 3 functions can be used at the same time. Where is the "power beyond" port on the MT series? Another note...neither of the above kits are designed to work with tractors that have cabs

Well that is discouraging to hear. I wonder why they are all different heights at the dealer.

All the brochures indicate you can get a mid mount PTO option so you can have a true 3rd function. Can this be added after the fact by the dealer or only at time of order?
