Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I own a smaller "quiet" compressor from HF. It works very well and is quiet enough to talk over without really raising your voice. My wife didn't even realize it was running when we used it while working on the chicken coop build.

Because I don't want to drop the backhoe to move a trailer. It is also easier to see pushing a trailer.

Clamp on hitch receiver, whatam I missing?

Thanks for the replies. It moves mostly side to side. I'll try some shim materials to see if it will stay put before attempting something more permanent. Tightening with a cheater pipe didn't help. It was super tight until the trailer moved about a foot. Very aggravating. From the positive...

Can <40hp compact tractor tow a trailer?

Question about the truck getting stuck. Is the truck 4 wheel drive? As others have said, tractor shouldn't have any issues towing. Traction could be an issue for the tractor as well as the truck. I wouldn't take my tractor anywhere my truck gets stuck. Granted, my truck is much more of an off...

Clamp on hitch receiver, whatam I missing?

I have a clamp on receiver that I'd like to use to move my cargo trailer and 2 horse trailer. It hasn't gone well when I've used it. No matter how tight I clamp it, it promptly slides around in use. What could I be missing? There is literally just one screw clamp and I would have thought it was...

    SHIPPING CONTAINERS / Sea Cans

I went with a 40' high cube. Really worked well for storage. Have storage shelving units that allow usage of the extra height. Also had a roll-up door installed in the middle of one side. Made access much easier. Of course now mine has been primarily converted into the feed room and hay storage...

    Fencing my property

I have used the 2x4 no climb fencing with good results. Last year we installed a lot of fencing because we got horses and donkeys. Went with Finishline fencing. Very happy with it. https://finishlinefence.com/ When limbs fall on it you remove them and the fence goes right back in place. I...

Compact Tractor Dealers Ignore Two-thirds of Their Potential Website Customers, Industry Survey Shows

I prefer to make initial contact via email or text if it's an option. Always at work before dealerships open and still working when they close. At work my focus is on people doing business with me so I can't work around the schedule of salesperson. When I bought my tractor last year it started...

    Does anybody buy bulk feed?

I don't have enough animals to buy in bulk but the prices at TSC are getting a bit high. Everywhere else is too. Starting to tire of feeding the wife's "ladys" AKA chickens since they presently haven't laid eggs in quite a while. Not really sure why we need almost 40 chickens and 16 ducks that...

    Horse arena ground prep

I might end up just leveling ours out and possibly having sand brought in once I find out how expensive that will be. I know there is a gravel pit nearby that actually donated sand for a local riding club so they should be able to sell me a decent sand instead of builders sand. My daughter...

    Horse arena ground prep

Presently deciding on box blade vs tow behind scraper. Will have at least a drag harrow as well. Harrow may turn into two. Burn Barrel that works

It is fun and somewhat useful to use a leaf blower to speed up the fire. I might have to try making a new burn barrel with fancier vents. Current barrel was vented by shooting it. Box blade vs draw bar scraper

The drawbar implement will cost quite a bit more than the box blade but might be worth it. I might not want to keep it if I don't keep the big tractor. Really do not have much use for the big tractor but since it's here I may as well find something for it to do.

Considering purchasing a box blade and found a draw bar scraper listed also. Trying to decide if it is worth the extra cost to go with the drawbar implement? Chain sharpening woes.

I sharpened thousands of chains in my youth working for my dad. The professional grinder setup was pretty straightforward and quick with practice. Tool Stuff, That I Was NEVER Taught, EVEN After 70 YEARS!!

Loved my Trail 70. Wish my parents had kept it. They are worth a fortune now relatively. Definitely agree the tool kit that came with it was more aggravating than useful. Which trees are useful?

Just food for thought. Wood turners love all the wood that is nasty and makes you not want to run it through the mill. We like root balls, crotch pieces, and especially burls. Basically if it looks useless and or difficult it would probably interest a turner. You could make some money and...

    Harrow for pasture use

When/if I use it with my Mahindra 1538 I would probably not drop the backhoe to attach it. If the ATV could pull it there wouldn't be a reason to. Also, the ATV may just have the job by itself. With mud tires I put on for snow plowing it is very good at towing and things and has a lot of traction.

    Tonneau Cover thoughts?

I will be putting in a round pen myself very soon. For several years we have shared a round pen with the neighbors. Have learned a few things from that experience. Most important is that if you don't address drainage no amount of sand can help. Neighbor just cleared off an area and filled it...

    back hoe side saddle?

Swisher 44" towable rough cut mower

    Typical hydraulic leak down time?

I typically do lower everything. Because the machine is new to me I wanted to see what happened. Plus I don't usually get to park it now. My daughters have jumped at the chance to operate the tractor every chance they get. Not that I blame them, it's still a toy even when working it hard.

    Typical hydraulic leak down time?

I am curious what would be 'typical' time for pressure to leak down on a CUT backhoe when parked? I have a Mahindra 1538 with a backhoe that is new to me. Buying Advice Illinois tractor dealers?

Should have mentioned I'm in central Illinois near Peoria. I don't mind traveling to buy if I have to. Preference would be dealing local especially for warranty work. That just doesn't seem possible. Also would have to have tractor delivered so that may be an issue for out of state purchase.
