    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Taking delivery on a GC1723EB with factory forks tomorrow. Wheel spacers already on their way. Thanks for the help everyone.

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Not buying for the purpose of stumps at all, but someone mentioned stumps and thought it would be gravy if it could also do that. Might give it a try and if its terrible, bail and get the right machine in. Tee good news is most of the large ones are are tulip poplar which have notoriously...

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Is there a clever way to tow a log splitter with a 2" ball about with the BH still attached? Sorry, what is MMM?

Thanks - not planning on dragging any 3PH implements at all at this time.

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Any reason not go with widest spacers (3")? Not worried about fitting between trees with 6" extra width.

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

I have multiple 24" stumps so hope I can remove them without renting equipment that would be nice. I have no implements planned to use the 3PH so Ill evaluate whether the BH becomes an asset or a liability with experience I guess. Guess I need to sleep on the filled tires thing.

BH will almost always be on unless I need the 3PH which as of now I have no plans for. Is it diminishing returns to get the tires filled in that case? I can totally see myself taking the tires off. I will likely do all the maintenance. I've maintained hydraulic systems and fabricated race cars...

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Thought about filled tires but concerned about their weight if I need to take them off for whatever reason. Is this a valid concern? I have looked at the ratchet rake and love the idea that is all I need! Do you know if it can be attached with a piranha bar or similar installed or does that...

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Def decided to go with a BH at this point. If they can help me get stumps out that is a bonus. Will probably be going with 2 or 3" spacers. Will add cast weights if I think I need them later. Here s a question, is there a single implement that would be useful in preparing ground like this for...

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Yeah that skid plate will probably be the first thing I buy for this. Was planning to rend a stump grinder to take out a bunch of 24-30: stumps. Would I be able to to that with this tractor and a ripper? Wouldnt have thought it was up to that task.

That ripper looks like it will do some damage. How time consuming is the changeover without a QA setup?

I dont see a BH QA or ripper for MF on the bexpanded site. Am I missing something or do they just not make it for MF?

I definitely want QA forks to maximize the load they can carry and keep the weight closer to that machine. One thing I'd like to be able to do is move pallets of dried splits. I will probably have to limit pallets to 1/3 cord dried. The dealer quoted 595 for the forks but I need to see what type...

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Toothbar is definitely on my list of accessories. I have rocky soil so will need protection on the loader and it may help digging into piles. Will have to look into spacers as well, especially if I need chains in the winter.

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

The dealer has some sort of pit and pile of junk to mess around with so I should be able to get a feel for its lift capability. I'd like the smallest tractor what will meet my needs for storage and secondarily for agility (;)). Hopefully I will also be able to get a sense of the clearance and...

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Would love a grapple in theory but I don't think the cost is justified for my use case. I can move rounds with the loader and larger items with the forks which would be rare since I usually cut logs where they lie. Definitely getting forks. Had a chat with the local MF dealer and am pleased...

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

I am not against a bigger machine, but I do need to keep size in mind for maneuverability in the woods and for storage as well. I will probably be reaching out to some dealers this week.

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

The majority of use will be used in a wooded area so I think I need to do some additional research on machine size/tire size/clearance also taking into consideration the competing spec of low CG for hill use. I have to balance these two things.

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Thanks for all the responses! Tires I will have to figure out but I suppose I need to decide on a machine first. I hadn't considered ground clearance - The MF I'm looking at is 6" but that appears to be under the diff - there is more clearance than that between axles. AmI looking at getting...

    Subcompact for hilly 3-acre

Hi All: Considering a subcompact for property maintenance and landscaping projects. I have been looking at Kubota, Mahindra, Kioti and currently leaning toward a MF GC1723 configured at a TLB. My property (residential, New Jersey): 3 acre quite hilly rocky soil mostly wooded Needs/wants...
