    Keep in mind, you already HAD a 2wd tractor w loaded back tires and you say you didn't know there were situations where weight would be undesirable.... Kind of proof for you there... Load the tires, add the lead, mount the scraper, and find another 400 lbs to put on top of it....:cool:

    I would suggest that you strongly consider adding the liquid ballast.... I can't think of any time I wouldn't want weight in the back of a 2wd tractor

    I wouldn't use cacl, but if your 8n has beet juice (rim gaurd) in it, transfer it from one tractor to the other n it'll be free....

    You can, all you have to do is split the tractor in half lol Actually w a bore scope and a length of brake line you could probably do it through the starter hole but don't want to get it on the clutch...

    Yeah, drive it around and work it hard depressing the clutch pedal OFTEN and on and off the throttle OFTEN.... you have nothing to lose by trying.... No the disc isn't "swollen" but the hub is likely rusted on the input shaft....

    I hadn't considered the possibility of an internal orc... With engine OFF and pto engaged, w an orc you'll be able to turn the shaft by hand one direction (w clicking) and not the other direction.

    That filter's NOT purdy... Re ORC... if you have one you can plainly see it on the pto shaft and if you turn it by hand you would hear the clicking...

    Well I finally remembered to check this today.... the knob is very hard to turn w a load (5' hog) lifted but I closed it all the way, opened 1/4 turn, lifted, then closed it as I killed the engine.... The hog stopped lowering as soon as it closed and stayed there till I opened the valve...

    There's a dipstick to the side of the fill hole Don't feel bad, I look for it for a couple of days before I realized that had it been a snake it would have bit me BTW.. fwiw, generally on a forum, instead of searching out an old topic and replying, you are better off just starting a new topic...

    How much run time have you put on this thing? If it sat a long time, you might consider working it pretty hard for a few hours w good fuel and fresh oil... you may find that the compression numbers come up just from that....

    Turning the old yoke off and welding on a new one should work just fine, but if it doesn't you could have the shaft turned down smooth and drilled for a shear bolt or cut for a woodruff key and purchase a suitable yoke....

    Not sure how similar yours is to my 77 2210d but I just did some electrical work under my dash and I found that the wiring started getting real easy to work on as I started taking the switches loose from the dash so they could hang down... Maybe post a pic of what ur looking at

    Forgot to mention I took the quick connect fittings out of the hydraulic circuit... just hose from pipe to pipe... ALSO.... I noticed that the 3 point leaks down in a few seconds w a load on them and the engine stopped.... common issue?

    Well I got the hydraulic pump back on and the rest of the tractor back together then had to tear it back down to fix a radiator leak... drain tube cracking out.... back together again and hooked up my 5' brush hog for a test.... surprised me! Handled the hog substantially better on the hillside...
