    Bushings in the arms that come directly off the Rock shaft is what I'm working on. Already replaced all load control shaft bushings & seals.

    Hello everyone, working on my JD 2240 today . Putting the bushings in the rock shaft lift arms. Just wondered if any one else has ever done this, and if the new bushings took the play out or if the shaft may need replaced.

    No not on my tractor. They only have one or the other. Two stage is by your left heel. My PTO Lever is between shifters.

    Yes I have independent PTO on my 2240 JD. When engaging the PTO with lever between the shifters. After power shaft starts to rotate a little. You can feel grinding thru lever. Upon full engagement grinding stops PTO operates fine.

    Just have a question on a 2240 John Deere . Could the steering valve assembly leaking cause the independent PTO to grind on engagement. Thanks for any answers.

    Is there any old school techs out there. That can tell me if you put oil on a JD Teflon rear crank seal on a 2240. Would appreciate this info

    I have a JD 2240. Just installed rear crank seal from JD. Put a little oil on seal on installation. Has a small leak. Just wondering if this seal should have been installed dry. I used proper install tool for the seal. Don't know why it would be leaking, any help appreciated.

    Hey TX Jim, Having a issue with my 2240 rear crank seal. It had a national oil seal in it, rubber lip seal. Installed a JD seal wear ring seal combination and it still leaks, crank journal looked good. Any ideas

    The 3 point hitch raises by itself slowly as I am moving along bush hogging. Manual says that is a adjustment for the arms.

    I have a JD 2240 , Trying to adjust 3 point hitch. Took out 1/2 drive plug by selective control lever. Adjustment screw inside there won't turn, anybody know why this wouldn't turn. Appreciate any answers.

    Just have a question on my 2240 JD. Trying to adjust 3 point hitch. The plug by the selector switch you remove , that is 1/2 drive the adjustment screw inside there won't turn. Anybody have ideas why this wouldn't turn.

    Called John Deere on that tool the part # they gave me is JDE -140 . Can't find anything with that number, does your book supercede a number.

    Received my rear crank seal installer tool today, And the pilot piece won't bolt to the crank. But tool seams the right size for the seal.

    I bought the rear crank seal from JD. They say this seal requires the special tool for installation or it will leak.I found one online for 133 dollars, guess I'll have to get it . Don't want to split it again and waist a good seal.

    Took the hydraulic screen out this morning. Grey sludge on screen again. Do you know what small reddish pieces of material on screen are. Lost maybe a half a quart taking screen out.

    I have a 2240, Replaced hydraulic fluid a couple months ago for loud metallic rattle, also filter and cleaned pre - screen. Screen was very dirty and fluid also. Noise is coming back. Could screen be clogged again

    Yes I have tightened that once ran bushhog Sunday leaked fairly bad line looks like been clamped many times will cut off re-clamp thanks for your time and info haven't done adjustments on 3 point yet will let you know results when done thanks again

    Drained Hydraulic fluid in my 2240 today . Kinda dark Grey looking, pulled pre-screen very clogged up, Little Brown like material on screen.fluid on screen was very gummy.

    Not sure yet. The tach works so I'm assuming the hours meter works. Just got the tractor and trying to get it ready for spring. Haven't had it out running yet.

    I have a 1980 2240 with Hydraulic pump noise after starting tractor takes a minute or two for noise to start very loud metallic rattle eveything works noise stops for a second upon engaging pto seems like cavitation can anybody help would appreciate any help thanks
