They used to use dryer filters in automobile air conditioners. And anytime we did a compressor change we change it. For protection of the new one an assured of no moisture in the system. It is the thing under the sightglass

Oil trim I don’t think a relief valve would cause that effect. That machine definitely has a lot of wear in the cylinders and the bushings and the control valves And the oil has possibly lost some of its viscosity. Add it all up and you get a little instability.

Well you might be right. This was a single action cylinder I just replaced. I replaced it, was only 2 hundred something, instead of packing. Faster can get back to work.

Cut the holes I guess just continue working with it. Turn the PTO on not under a load and see if it does the same. If you could hear maybe a hum it could be the clutch coil. Visual observation as best you can. Just check everything really good. You will find out something

You may be right, or maybe not. It’s possible that the windings in the clutch are getting hot. It’s also possible that the clutch is slipping also getting hot. I’ve never seen a miss alignment cause that much heat but it’s possible. Good luck

On the utube reviews I’ve seen wix is at the top on filtering ability of the popular brands. I don’t know how they compare to OEM. I think Napa gold is the same as wix. That’s what Napa told me

Some filters don’t even look and feel to be high quality enough for me to put on. It don’t hurt to shop around but I want at least OEM standards we know the price is cheap when compared to a repair.

Runner you might plug that hole with a screw and ruck more grease in there. It most likely is a cone shaped bearing, like a wheel bearing. If you could get to it to pack it, be good packed for a long time

No if it’s stopped up you couldn’t pump it, providing it’s a good primed up gun. Sometimes that’s a big area to fill. So you should have judgement to get a feel of what’s happening. Good luck and keep on trying

Sir I’m not familiar with your machine. But I have replaced many PTO switches in my lifetime. All were bad. There is always a chance of a bad solenoid or wire loose to cause this problem. You got to start somewhere and your guess is probably better than anyone on here. Good luck

Scotty the Crescent wrench I don’t think will brake. I think the jaws will start to spread and slip therefore rounding the nut. What works for one doesn’t work for all. I have never use a hammer of any kind on a wrench.

When that was bought new I’d bet it ran with 30 wt oil. Now multi viscosity, make enough difference to notice. And you might overhaul it and sadly have the same issue.

Rscotty before the oil change it was most likely some low on the dip stick. He filled it with new non diluted oil and it helped. I’ve got a 600 ford with an oil gauge, when it gets a quart low the gauge is up and down. That how I know to check oil in it. Just old 70 year old equipment for you

It’s old. Probably lots of wear Would be expensive to fix. Would it be out of the question to keep it idled high? I’m sorry but I don’t know an easy fix. Maybe others will have better suggestions. I’ve had old cars in the past do that till I traded them off.

Wish I could be more help. With all that new stuff, does it have any emissions that could fill the intake with oil. Seems unlikely to get by the rings. Keep us updated we are all scratching our heads
