if you've ever watched Resident Alien, id love to have those extra 2 arms.
That's why I don't believe in evolution.

If it were true, we would have selectively evolved to have 4 arms and hands, since everyone could use an extra hand...

At least that's my story and I'm holding on to it, with all 4 hands.

A couple days ago I was sitting having my morning coffee. When it got light I could see something hanging down from the bottom of my 2009 Tacoma. Checked it out after breakfast - one of the two straps that support the gas tank was so rusty it broke. No choice but to fix it right there.

gg
Murphys law, it was full of gas right?😆

An overhaul to the steps up to my front porch. Several years ago - one step failed. I fell - not fun.

I'm being proactive. Easier to fix than recuperate from a fall. Whole lot less painful too.

I went to use my pressure washer a couple of days ago, water spraying everywhere. I ran to the hardware store and bought a box of various O rings, that fixed it.

Nice. I find it annoying how often stuff breaks while just sitting.

"It worked fine, last time I used it!"

The thing i really hate is trying to fix a simple thing, like a faucet ceramic disk, and it turning into an entire day while you have to shut down the house water to replace the shut off valve under sink that just wont completely shut off. And while your at it, the trap is looking sketchy, so lets change that. And the hinge on the cabinet is loose, lets fix that……

I fixed my first computer in a similar way...45 Long Colt in my cowboy guns.

good times (y)

I actually did get the saw running good last year. The FrankenPoulan sports a Homelite bar from the 80's, saw is 20 years old. New carb, tuned, running great. Tree down last week, as with all things that sit, f'er won't idle. Tired AF after a long day, hot, pissed, lucky for the Husqvarna, it ran.

I will pull the FrankenPoulan no more, FIXED!

Tuned my table saw to within .001" today. Close enough.

My wife wanted more room in carriage barn
20241005_114357.jpeg

Actually, a friend gave me this lift today, hauled it to my place but can set it in place until i pour a pad. So ill store it in barn till next year. See, one thing for free will cost me hours and tons of money. It goes hand in hand.

Something Very satisfying about the final repair.

I know I felt great after turning a troublesome Sanyo flat screen into a truly "Flat" screen with the FEL and R1 tires.

Yeah but.....to have a friend who "Gives" a lift is to have a True Friend!! There must be more to this story! Eagerly await the true tail/story.

No, he was helping to clear a homestead to sell the house, and they had the lift in the shop. Owner had no use for it. My friend already had a lift, and asked me if i wanted this one. Was located pretty close to my property, so we hauled it on my trailer.

Seems there is always something needing to be fixed. How many others get up in the morning and think to themselves "I wonder what will break today"?
Yep, alternator not charging on a tractor. Yep, battery toast on another. I do not even want to go to the barn today.
Who else has these days and what is your latest "perfect, just what I needed today" moments?

I have an ongoing “fixed thing”. Knotter #6 on my Krone baler.
It rips the twine behind the knotter about every other bale.

Billhook-check
Twine knife-check
Twine rollers-check
Twine feed-check

In the meantime, I’ll keep on fixing it I guess.

And all this time I've just been trying to muster up enough energy to change the oil and filter in the truck. Perhaps even crawl around under it and lubricate the essentials. It keeps getting pushed down on the list. Today, I need to go grocery shopping.

I’m just not getting the camper ready to go. For us camping is near over. And time to winterize the plumbing I just repaired. And my wife just don’t understand.
