I like 4 years of wood minimum. Oak takes 3 years to dry fully and I want an extra years worth incase something happens to me and can't cut for a year. If I were to die my wife has plenty of time to figure out how to get wood before she would be heating with propane.

I ordered one. We will see how long it takes to be delivered. I have over 50 stumps right now that will need to be done plus I'm not finished cutting yet. 20 years of trees encroaching in into the yard and I'll be clearing a large food plot that this will help with.

New wood shed, and how do you rotate stored firewood?

I do not. I've never covered my stacks before, and everything has always been fine. I don't care about the rain hitting it because I stay 3+ years ahead now. The only benefit of a cover on the totes to me would be keeping some of the leaves and dust from landing in them.
  26. N

New wood shed, and how do you rotate stored firewood?

Cut the other side. This is how I fill the totes and use the cut out to hold them in. My wife has slight ocd and stacks it all perfectly. She does most of the splitting. I just take care of the big pieces usually. so I'm pretty lucky with that
  27. N

New wood shed, and how do you rotate stored firewood?

This is the method I go with also. It's so much easier. I had 48 totes full before we started burning this fall. All separated by species. Ash, oak, cherry, and elm. I bring 1 tote inside my garage at a time and use a cart to bring it in the house from there
