Anyone have a MechMaxx 3-pt stump grinder?

Contributing on the topic. Received mine earlier this week. Very pleased with the unit and order process. Have taken out a half dozen stumps with ease.

Packaging was secure, instructions pretty clear, and the painting and welds clean. The unit has a couple features not clearly marketed by the the seller—chain saw holder bracket and a manual box complete with tools needed for all fasteners on the machine.

Using on a Mahindra 1533 hydro, and it manages it pretty well. I know the specs state it will work with lower HP tractors, but I wondered how well the 25hp PTO would do. Have done a few medium-large stumps, as well as some harder wood ones. I will get my money’s worth out of it and would buy again.

So is the same one you purchased and did you get it at this price?

Wonder how much of an increase there will be with the now in effect tariff??

I ordered one. We will see how long it takes to be delivered. I have over 50 stumps right now that will need to be done plus I'm not finished cutting yet. 20 years of trees encroaching in into the yard and I'll be clearing a large food plot that this will help with.

Don't be surprised if the cost of it increases substantially in as much as DJT just upped the tariff on China to 125%, that is if they don't cancel your order...

It went up 50 dollars since yesterday. I'm not worried. I'm sure I'll get it for what I paid. If it goes up more after that I'll just have a higher resale value when I'm done with it in a few years.

and another $50 today - $1499 now.

but... around here you're lucky to find a used woodland mills for that price, and they are $2400 new - on sale right now for $2000 though. Baumalights are over 3k new.

I'm hopping on the bandwagon too! I ordered an SG24 on March 27th when they had it on sale for $1400. I'm hoping it ships soon. I have about 50 stumps to grind before I can put gravel on top of them.

Ordered and got the confirmation email on the 10th. On the 11th i got a mail saying that due to exceptionally high demand the delivery time is estimated at 4-5 weeks. The website still shows "in stock" for both colors with a 15-18 day delivery. I guess time will tell if / when i will get it.

Last year when they were $1899 (or whatever it was) i didn't pull the trigger because the website was stating a 6-7 week delay. I didn't want to lock in with that delay because there was a reasonable chance that I might find a used one before that, plus it was getting late in the year to wait 2 months to get one - the season to do the work was getting late. Looks like it's kinda headed the same way this year. I guess as long as I can get one by Memorial Day, it will all be good. I can only do so many things until we thaw & dry out completely. Heck, it's snowing right now.

The website said it was in stock when I ordered mine. I'm thinking that it was actually on a boat somewhere, if not still in China when I ordered. They don't seem to actually have a presence in the USA. They are drop shipping from China to a freight forwarders warehouse here. I guess this is the trade off for paying $600 less than what woodland mills is charging.

Looks like the price has eased up to $1599. You guys with recent orders, how are your delivery dates coming along?

I'd be more than willing to bet that the price increases in pace with the tariff, especially if the grinder isn't warehoused stateside. No way will the China company take a hit on the cost.

I suspect your anticipated 600 buck savings is gonna go the other way as in 600 bucks more. Far as if you already paid for it, they can just withhold shipment and bill your CC for the difference and they don't care if your CC denies the charge either. They will either issue a refund or forget about you in as much as they are in China anyway.

I will take that bet. The price hasn't increased 245%. It's $1500 today. Still $300 less than it was before the sale started. It's already paid for. They can't charge more. They don't get to hold onto credit card info. They use shop.com for their point of sales system. Shop is much like PayPal. They hold money in escrow and can refund it if there is an issue. If they were in a bind, I suspect they would just keep delaying delivery until people cancel their orders and then cancel any orders that aren't voluntarily canceled. Shop would insure refunds to every order unfulfilled. They would still be forced to pay import tariffs on everything in transit. It's not like the boats are turning around. The alternative is to pay outrageous storage fees until they pay the tariffs. The products will still go to their freight forwarders warehouse where they will pay less outrageous storage fees until they are sold at whatever price they think the market will support. Seeing that the price went up and then back down again tells me that they have some kind of marketing strategy here. Perhaps the margin went down and they are now trying to move more products to make up for the tariff cost with sales volume.

You have no idea what you are talking about. These are just your guesses and they are wrong.

Well, if and when you finally get it, please tell everyone the final cost and if you do get it at all..

Maybe I don't know (which would be good for you) but maybe I do (I follow the news as it pertains to the tariff's on China so please let everyone know as we are all interested.

I do know that following the price increases on Amascon with Chinese produced goods, I'd say I'm right.

Really don't much care as I already have mine, bought it last year.

You can borrow it if you want to, for a fee of course.

Let me put it another way...

If your stump grinder isn't already at their freight forwarder on shore and is coming from China. it will fall under the now imposed 200% tariff imposed on ALL goods coming from China and the administration just imposed an additional tariff on all the Chinese unloading cranes used to unload the ships. Don't believe me, wander over to G Captain on the net and read it for yourself.

Me thinks you are screwed but on the slim chance you aren't please let everyone know as we are all curious.

I figure you will be fine.

The question I have is how are the tariffs figured - is it the retail you paid (I don’t think so) or the wholesale value, which is maybe around $500, a big difference in the overall cost.
