    Straightening The SSQA?

I agree with what you're saying. A twisting load on any attachment is not good.

Seems like a simple radial shear pin/bolt arrangement would accomplish the same thing and be easier to fix by replacing.

    Straightening The SSQA?

Makes a guy wonder if they design the loaders with the flimsy cross bar to function as a "fuse" to prevent damage in case one end of the bucket or grapple is overloaded? An example would be trying to pull a large post with a chain at one end of the bucket. I'm sure it happens.

    Straightening The SSQA?

LOL! I was talking about under the barrel OD and I think you're talking about the end of the barrel but, yes, he has the 2x captured where it won't bend the rod. My reference to "good way to bend a rod" is if a person didn't know what he or she was doing.

    Straightening The SSQA?

The guy must have a really good eye judging by how quickly he approved the straightening process. I would have had to squint and look about a dozen times and then grab a square, straightedge or something. :)

    Straightening The SSQA?

True that. It just looks like the 2x6 could cause a problem if it got caught under the end of the cylinder barrel

    SSQA, From the Seat Release

I wonder if anyone has tried a push/pull cable to operate the SSQA from the tractor seat? I see them used in some fairly heavy duty construction applications etc. I'm thinking similar to those used on remote valves but probably more heavy duty.
  26. npalen

    SSQA, From the Seat Release

Ok, I see what you're saying. I think it would be best to have no hoses permanently attached to the SSQA cylinder, only quick couplers. Then, when using the grapple, there could be no transfer of oil between rod and piston ends of the cylinder.
  27. npalen

    SSQA, From the Seat Release

Not exactly sure what you mean by "move under load" but the SSQA cylinder won't extend or retract unless the 3rd function directional valve is actuated. Right?
  28. npalen

    SSQA, From the Seat Release

I may not be understanding exactly what you are saying, but the SSQA would be locked when using the grapple. The SSQA cylinder would keep it locked. Edit: Would actually be safer in that the hoses to the SSQA cylinder would be disconnected so accidentally unlocking is averted. This is in...

But if the only relief valves in the system are in the two directional valves and both set at 2500 PSI and I operate both valves at the same time and each has a cylinder attached that reaches end of stroke----and the pump is capable of 5000 psi before it explodes or kills the engine????
  39. npalen

Question about how my open center FEL valve with power beyond

Okay, I see what you are saying. The operator apparently had both valves, each with its own relief valve, deadheaded simultaneously against their respective loads. If both reliefs were set at, say, 2500 psi then the actual was 5000 psi, right?

Trading CUT For A Pickup--Sales Tax?

This would be in Kansas. It would seem that there would have to be some proof of the trade. Perhaps a bill of sale for the tractor stating that the proceeds consisted of the pickup? Seems like the county treasurers office would look over the top of their bifocals. :)
