Kid on a 4 wheeler, even dogs running deer on your property --> sure.

Guys gun hunting from the back of a pickup truck and taking snap shots in any direction they please while they are crossing your land --> nope.

Note that those same guys have in the past been drinking beers while in the back of the truck with loaded guns driving thru the woods. They were spoken to before with no stopping them.

Any updates on this? Are the bad guys in the clink? Paying healthy fines?
Working off community service?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Well, I spoke at length to the warden on the case. He was very impressed that the license plate numbers could be read and traced. All to local people that feel entitled to my property. Grrr.

It was funny, the warden told me that when he first was looking at the pictures he got to the one with the guy in the back of the truck and thought, oh man if only I could prove he was in a moving vehicle. The next 2 pictures are of the truck farther and farther away.

Healthy fines? No, not as bad as it should be.

Fine for having an uncased gun in a vehicle - $230
Fine for having a loaded uncased gun in a vehicle - $250 ish.
Fine for trespass - $300
Fine for putting out more than 2 gal of bait - $500 per occurrence.

The warden and I yakked for a while. He will probably be in the woods at that location during the next year's gun season. He is also speaking with the Sheriff about the trespass. It sounds like they almost want to have the sheriff catch them while trespassing to do anything. I may have to go to court to spank them properly.

John,
You are not alone! I went down to Marshfield for the inlaws this last week. The local paper got a picture of a bear in a local cornfield. The bear hunters were running dogs illegally the next day trying to get it!

I had some trouble with a neighbor understanding where he should or shouldn’t hunt. They were spotlighting, shooting from the road and hunting on my property. I took a Tupperware container and painted it black attached a lens looking piece on the front and added a red and a green led and added batteries that would keep it lit for a month or so. I then pulled up an advertisement off of the WEB and pulled it over into MS paint and made the add look and read as though the camera (fake) transmitted wirelessly and continuously with infrared so that they would think that if they approached the camera day or night they would be caught on tape. Then I printed the fake add about the fake "Wonder Camera” and took the camera and placed it at the entrance to the area about 20 feet up a tree in plain view. I dropped the add about the fake "wonder camera" kind of wrinkled it up, smudged it a little and left it lying where they would see it in the morning.
The entrance was by a public road that they traveled on a daily basis. Then I waited to see if they would pick it up and they did. Two weeks later I got a subpoena to county court. You guessed it they took me to court for putting a camera where I could look over the entrance to my land. I didn’t say a word and the Woman Judge listens to what my neighbor says about how he can’t come or go without me knowing his whereabouts and the judge says that I was within my rights to monitor my own property. I am telling you that I did not even open my mouth and she threw it out. My troublesome neighbor was ticked. I will have to say that it ended his activities on my property. I never told anybody but my immediate family that the “Wonder Cam” was a Tupperware container with a few batteries and a couple led’s. I still laugh about it. The neighbor never did learn he got caught this year shooting a deer with his 16 year old son besid eof a house and the homeowner didnt take very kindly to it. The local game Warden was called and ended up searching his home taking all of his wild game from his freezers and his gun that was used in the shooting beside the house. They also fined him $1700 and revoked his hunting rights for 3 years. That should stop him for a while.

Oh no. Caught on the Tupperware cam!

Did your neighbor ever find out it was fake?
