1025R vs BX2380

No local dealers for MF around me, but my online research indicated they are good units. I would have certainly shopped it if I had a close dealer. That's one of the big advantages for JD & Kubota, much bigger dealer network. A quality local dealer is high on my priority list, and JD & Kubota both check that box for me.

I had the same decision to make. Ended up with the 1025R, getting delivered Thursday. Had Kubota for years, but the quick connect loader and mower deck on the JD sealed the deal

I see JD just announced the new 260B backhoe and 120B loader for the 1 series. Looks like an increased lift capacity... 754 pounds for the loader. Backhoe looks to have many improvements.

Might want to take a look if you are debating between a JD and Kubota.

The press release wasn't so flush with details....a few extra pounds of capacity is nice, but I wonder when they actually be available, and how much more $$. Probably not a big factor for me, as I'm looking to make a move in the next week or two.

Well have you made the decision?

I made my decision this morning. I got a 1025r with a 120R loader with a 53" bucket. Good luck to everyone else in your decision. I really don't think you can go wrong either way if they are both good dealers.

I am really stuck in the same exact situation you are. I am looking at the BX25 that has the third implement controls. I love the ability to get the grapple, but the FEL seems markedly weaker that the 1025r. Is that what you found? Kubota is 500 lbs vs 900 on the JD is what I am seeing.

Yes it is. The loader capacities listed by Kubota were less than the Deere and the local Kubota dealer only used the SSQA loaders, which were even less. The Kubota dealer said their capacities where higher than advertised but I could never find anything in solid numbers. I looked at comparisons on youtube but couldn't find any comparisons of lift capacity between Deere and Kubota. The Messicks comparison was almost comical because they were so slanted towards the Kubota. While I didn't mind the forward and reverse pedals on the Kubota, I liked the side by side pedals on the Deere better. I liked being able to get a 53" bucket over the 48" or 49" Kubota bucket. I liked the lights situated on the fenders of the Deere. I also liked the position control on the 3 point hitch. I actually liked the looks of the Kubota better. These were just my thoughts and I understand that not everyone feels or thinks the same way as I do, which is why there are different brands.
