$1100.00 For CK-20 Hood - ridiculous

I had an incident with a mostly fallen tree where it flipped over the bucket and landed on the hood putting a nice sized dent in the top. Front and center. I tried to "pop" the dent out but it didn't work as the metal was deformed. It is a battle scar and very visible to me. Turns out that most people don't notice. I see many photos of Kiotis on this site that look showroom new. I mean even the black bucket paint is perfect, the anodized gold pins for the loader where you grease them are all still pretty gold. Mine are all black from grease and dirt, my bucket is used and rusty, and my hood is dented.

Is it a showroom tractor or a working machine? It took me awhile to get over that hood dent so I understand, but once you get over it you will have saved 1100$.

Guys i just bush hogged over my DK 40 front grill head light essymbly. I didnt get it re-attated correctly after cleaning out my radiator and it fell down in front of my tracter while bush hogging. It will cost me over 600.00 just for all the plastic parts and lights, not includeing the wireing and rubber parts. anyway i decided this is a work machine and i spent my 600.00 getting a Mig welder and am now in the process of building a new front end made of steel that i can push my way through tall grass and small trees when im bush hogging without worrying about something terring up my new replacement 600.00 doller plastic front grill.

Perhaps you should consider buying a whole new tractor and parting it out on E-bay. You could keep the hood and probably make a tide sum on the balance of parts. Just a passing thought, and good luck.

I like to think I am one of the owners who's tractors look and work like they did when they were new.
If I break something I fix it, if my tractor needs cleaned I wash it, if my bucket wears off all the paint and begins to rust I paint it. (my bucket and 3 point hitch assembly has been repainted several times on my DK).
This system seems to work well for me.. My JD 850 is 28 years old, it still works and looks very good and I keep it that way.

My brother caused my garage door to fall on my B7100 23 years ago and when I priced the hood I thought they wanted too much back then so I didn't replace it. After all these years when I look at my tractor I think I'm glad I didn't replace or fix it. It's a tractor, leave it like it is and you get to give your brother a hard time for 23 years. With all the apoligies and free beer he has brought over it has more than paid for the hood.

Those gotta be new tires, aren't they, if not they have rarely seen pavement or gravel. My old B7200 was 18 years old when I sold it and the tires didn't look anywhere near that good and they hardly ever seen the pavement.  :D

Well Malk315 I guess I am in the minority. I agree that $1,100 for a new hood for a CK20 HST is out of line. Past posts in this fourm have stated that Kioti has very reasonable prices for parts as I recall. This ain't reasonable IMHO. Sure everything is getting expensive these days but come on $1,100 for a hood to a small tractor? Probably take five months to get it. I will be darn careful with the hood on my CK20 HST and I will invest in a grill guard. I know the tractor is covered under my homeowners policy (have the binder) and if it is ever "damaged in a covered event" I will get the damage appraised for sure. Do you have insurance that might cover this? That said had you considered calling some auto body shops and seeing if they could do some work on the hood? I guess you could take the hood only to a shop and have them look at it. $500 buys a fair amount of labor. Or you might try a local trade school that is looking for projects. Good luck with it.

The tires were changed about 5 years ago. It has 4000 hours on it. My son put the tires on backwards because we plow snow in reverse and for mowing it doesn’t make a difference. Every time I post a picture someone points out the backwards tires and I need explain why. I went years without noticing what he had done and then someonw told me they were backwards. If you look carefully you can see the bent hood. Next summer we hope to restore it to original condition and will probably switch the tires just so people stop telling us they are on backwards.
