Bill thanks for the comments. I don't think I'll be in Texas any time soon- tho I sure would like to be. I have about 20 or so hours in this thing but I really don't have a real good drill press (for 25 pairs of holes) plus all the other holes. Also this thing gets pretty heavy real quick. I had to use the Kubota to lift and move around because my shop is kind of small. All in all it's a simple piece of equipment and I'm sure you would have no problem in making one.

Ok, I can see this thing has uses even without the front part.......which could be a rake or anything else 3 pt. I want to know how you made the roller and pins.

thanks

A nice set of pictures, a materials list and measurements would be really nice. If I had those I could build one for myself.

I got a pipe 5" dia. by 5'-6" and had a friend with a plasma torch cut the end plates out of 3/8" plate. He also cut a hole in the center 1" dia. for the 1" steel rod which goes all the way trhough. I tacked welded the end plates on with the 1" rod and trued the rotation similar to using a lathe.Once the roller ran true I finished welding the end caps and the 1" rod.
The spikes are 3/4" pieces of a 10' ground rod. Each piece is 1 1/2 " long welded to the roller. The ground rod is copper coated steel which should hold up pretty good.

Mad-- I looked at several pulverizers on the net and some sites even break down a parts list and how they are assembled. Also I went to a local Agri Supply and looked at one first hand. Theirs was a little different- not as heavy duty as some other models. A pulverizer similar to the one I built sells for around $1000. Not much in material but a lot of time.

Billy, great job.

Are you making others for sale?

Bob thanks for the reply. I really can't weld well enough to make things for the public. If I payed someone for mine I would expect it to be better.

Thanks for the info guys. I have a TIG welder that I bought a number of years ago when I was doing a bunch of car work. The thing sat dormant until this summer when I bought the tractor and pulled the thing out to weld up a few things for the tractor. The pulverizer looks like a nice little project that I could get some real use out of. I have seen the professional built ones and they are real $$. If the materials don't cost too much I don't mind spending the time to build one. Thanks again.
