Picked up another project today, a Yanmar YM135D. The guy’s dad used to be the local Yanmar dealer back in the day and believed his dad sold this tractor new. He had torn it apart to fix the leaking front end then suddenly put it back together and decided to sell it as it wasn’t really his thing. The tractor runs great, clutch feels like it’s at the end of its life as it kinda grinds into gear but nothing too crazy. Looking forward to bringing this Yanmar back to its former glory. Big brother YM226D for size comparison.

Those little Yanmars are stout little units, wish some owners would treat them a little better
Really! I wish the prior owner had at least parked my YM240 under cover. And tightened some bolts once in a while.

Photo 15 years ago. It looks the same today.

A ranch guest from the city saw it in its stall. 'That thing doesn't run, does it?' Sure it does, same as it ran when new. It just looks like heck.

Jake, you're going to love that little 135D.

Took the front end apartment today and installed the keys for the steering arms so the steering would actually do something. Drove the 135D out of the shop for a wash. The front axle definitely needs resealed but overall everything seemed to be pretty decent.

" clutch feels like it’s at the end of its life as it kinda grinds into gear but nothing too crazy."

That might just be the need of a clutch adjustment if you are lucky.
Clutches do wear you know.

I’m hoping so, the free play in the pedal is about double what it should be, I’ll see if a simple adjustment is all it is. 🤞🏼
