Thanks for asking.

We have been putting up pole barn in our spare time and have just not had extra time. I hope to be in the position to try them out again in the near future.......

Decided to get the mounting plate changed from 90 degrees to 30 after playing with the forks for a while today. I believe this to be the answer to my original problem. I will get the forks back in a few days and let everyone know how they work out.

If you are going to take the PT to the welder and the forks, I would recommend that you have him tack weld first to check out full up and down tilt. A different tilt bar would be more to your advantage, not only for the forks, but other implements as well. Be sure to check out the tilt at full up, it may be to much and allow a load to dump back on you,

Took your advise and informed welder to tack only so I could try it out. Should have done this the first time /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

If you want to move trailers around, have the welder cut you a 3/4 hole in one fork and a 1 in hole in the end of the other fork for a 1 7/8, or 2 in ball. Just drive up, lift and go.

Sounds like an excellent idea.

Picked up the forks today, tacked at 15 degree angle and tried them out on the PT. I now have full range of motion especially on the lower portion of the lift. I still do not understand why the 425 fork attachment plate is mounted at 90 degrees and it works, whereas my plate mounted at 90 had limited lower motion.

Anyway, the welder also informed me he could make the quick attach for around $100.00. I will take him up on that in the future. He said the bottom piece of the quick attach would not be bent and it would simply be a separate piece welded to the bottom. This should work, I see no reason why it would not.

Good deal. Can you show some pictures with the forks in the full down and full up position. Do you think you will be able to go into the ground at a 45 degree angle, and dig up plants? Did they cut you a hole in the end for mounting a ball for moving trailers? I have two racks, and five sets of forks now. Hard to pass up a good deal. I used my forks to lift a lid off a septic tank the other day, weighed about 400 lbs. I think you will find many uses for the forks. If you don't already have a mini-hoe, you can make one using one fork, a large hyd cyl and a bucket.
