16ft trailer long enough for CUT TLB?

I have a yanmar 2000 tractor. With the front weight on it it weighs about 2000lb. I have no loader but will put my disk harrow up front. It weighs maybe around 400lb? Its close to 4ft from the front to back. I then pull my tractor up to within a few inches of the harrow. With my bushhog on. I have also put my box blade on the side and strap it down, and have also put a 6ft piece of rail road track for weight on the very front of the trailer. The bushhog hangs off maybe 2 feet. My trailer is a 16 ft tandem carhauler 7k lb capacity. It has a 2 ft dovetail so the wheel hangs really low and hits if you pull into a store parking lot that is raised with a drive off the road or like if you go over a railroad bed etc. To get by this i take the spare tire and put it under the bushhog and then set the bushhog down on it. This keeps the tire about thigh high in the air. I then strap everything down, and am still under te trailer capacity. 18ft would be nice but not help me much more as for length, all it would do is let the tail wheel on the BH to stay on the trailer, but i rally could not haul anything else , at least in my mind? Going to 20 ft would give you more space and you cound get more stuff on it!

I Need a trailer ASAP for my Kubota B2920. just an occasional short tow for the most part. I want 18ft but I am finding mostly 16ft landscape trailers with reinforced rear mesh gates so nothing can hang off the rear. For anyone that has this setup - does it work? Do you wish you had the 18?
I will tow it with a 09 Ram. Any brake controller advice? Thanks

Your 2920 is the same frame size as my TC33.

I thought i had a pic of it up on the trailer with my woods hoe on the back. I can move it farther forward on the trailer as i have so much weight hanging off the @ss end of the tractor but even so i have to curl the hoe all the way under to fit it "on" the trailer.

the above pic is my 20' flat 10K equipment trailer. With hoe on the back the bucket is within 2' of the front.

could you get it on an 18' perhaps. do you really want the extra 2' so you have room to move it around and get your tongue weight right, h3ll ya!

NO way i would get mesh anything. My setup with hoe weights ~6000 lbs thats WAY more weight than trailers with mesh are designed to take.

I got a better deal by shopping around (and I put a little extra money in) and I ordered a 18ft Holmes trailer with raised mesh sides, 6 tie downs, spare and spring assist for the rear gate. I also ordered a maxbrake controller for my Ram from amazon. I will post pics when I pick it up.

Hope you never need to overhang with that rear gate. But sounds like a good trailer. Why did you want the mesh sides? Just curious. Oh right i think i remember you saying you wanted to haul various junk around most of the time.
