I have a yanmar 2000 tractor. With the front weight on it it weighs about 2000lb. I have no loader but will put my disk harrow up front. It weighs maybe around 400lb? Its close to 4ft from the front to back. I then pull my tractor up to within a few inches of the harrow. With my bushhog on. I have also put my box blade on the side and strap it down, and have also put a 6ft piece of rail road track for weight on the very front of the trailer. The bushhog hangs off maybe 2 feet. My trailer is a 16 ft tandem carhauler 7k lb capacity. It has a 2 ft dovetail so the wheel hangs really low and hits if you pull into a store parking lot that is raised with a drive off the road or like if you go over a railroad bed etc. To get by this i take the spare tire and put it under the bushhog and then set the bushhog down on it. This keeps the tire about thigh high in the air. I then strap everything down, and am still under te trailer capacity. 18ft would be nice but not help me much more as for length, all it would do is let the tail wheel on the BH to stay on the trailer, but i rally could not haul anything else , at least in my mind? Going to 20 ft would give you more space and you cound get more stuff on it!
