Congratulations on the new (to you) SLK. I've driven a few of those and agree that they are really nice and comfortable. One of the things I really liked about them is the hard convertible top. It makes the car much quieter with the top up, and it eliminates the risk of jealous people or vandals slicing a cloth top.

By the way, the key to getting into a Miata or S2000 is to turn your back to it and just sit down and then swing your legs in. Same thing getting out.

Sit way, way down, like fall down backwards and then try and get the or my legs to lift up enough to clear the sill plate and then to egress, grab legs one at a time with hands, lift them over sill and then grab the top of the car and try to pull self up enough to get some leg leverage to make that last pull to a standing position. Much easier when I was early 20 when I started with a 1969 Datsun 2000 roadster, then a 1970 240Z, then the different Corvettes and SLs which were easy pre 90 and the MR2 Turbo. Cadillac Allantes were easy. When my butt is below my ankles, well. I hate admitting it but I may be getting old and the extra lbs and painful shoulder doesn't help.
I to like the hardtop over a soft top and not much of a top down guy. I do love the smaller vehicles but I used to be 190 and below lbs and also used to be several years younger but still not to old to not have a 2 seater sports car.
Will stop by Barlows today to ask them to add a hook on the top of my BX25 bucket and see when they plan to deliver. We are in a 3 day freeze period but warmer weather coming in a couple of days.

Well said it seems now I fall into all cars and need a crane to get out. Just cannot get over my love of convertable sports cars and tractors. Seems to me it easier to pull up to get in rather than fall into

By the way my favorite feature on the SLK was the neck scarf which blew warm air on the back of your neck keeping you feeling warm on those chilly top down days

The BMW Z-4 is a very nice sports car love the look of the long nose, very British if you ask me. Enough power to get in trouble and plenty of leg room. Just my two cents worth

I'm more of a Z3 fan. IMO, the most classic looking of the series. You are right, plenty of power (great acceleration) with a 6cyl., legroom and oversized brakes. Great responsive steering and a lot of fun to drive out on country roads. I've borrowed my friends many times!

Btw, John, is congrats at this point still appropriate!?! Enjoy.

It is and thanks. Stopped by Barlows on the way to rental property 2 miles past Barlows on West Hwy 80 and told them I wanted hook on top of the bucket. Looks like Steve wants to deliver it tomorrow and guess I'll let him. I usually just go out for a few hours every other day and got off my Mon, Wed, Fri schedule because I had to go to Louisville yesterday so wasn't going to go tomorrow and just go Thursday and do 2 days this cold week. But alas, the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. If he calls, I'll go. Told him I'm going for the 5 years prepaid Kubota Insurance which ends up a bit better deal than my current ins cos Inland marine equipment policy.
Well, haven't been able to upload pics and just picked one of my trading in B2620 being assembled and seem it may have uploaded. Will try more.

No, that's not the new BX25, that's the old one doing oil and filters change.....new one almost just like it except the new one will be standing on all 4 wheels on the ground. If I find new ones I'll try again if it will keep uploading.
