Check with your steel guy for a reference they will have the connections to get them
These were factory made not on site
Good idea. We actually have two different Amish steel dealers in our area, and I know they sell many other things besides just the steel... I know for a fact they sell the perma-columns, so they should be able to get the laminated 6x6's.

what a great thread thinking of doing the same type of shed for storaged and hay! may be 18ft x 48ft. looking for just a sloped roof with 3:12 pitch.

I found some free online plans from a University of Kentucky.

But please post pics gives me ideas and motivation!

I thought about a sloped roof, but I decided to go with a gable roof just for the appearance. I will be posting pics once i get things started...

This is 24 x 52. The last bay on left is 12 foot spacing on posts as I wanted large stuff/hay wagon in that bay. All other posts are 10' on center. Sliding doors go on in the next few weeks.

Second picture - shows equipment parked and boards for bottom four feet of shed.Went around inside of shed and lined with boards to prevent putting holes through the tin from inside out.

Third Picture - Trusses coming down to posts show that we notched the top of posts with a chain saw to accommodate 2x10 header. Hurricane clips on all trusses. Also shows 2x4 purlins on side. Pre-drilled purlins to accommodate large pole barn nails. Prevents a lot of splitting.

Filled cavity between bottom boards (treated) with ag lime to give more strength in case of a slight over run with bucket or whatever.

Looks good! I can't wait to get started on mine. I'm hoping within the next couple of weeks. I have all the grading done, which I did with my JD 2305 FEL, so I'm just about ready!!

So, it's been a while, buy was finally able to get a start on my building. Unfortunately, right after I started on it, the Pennsylvania 2 week deer season started and we got nailed with snow! With that said, this is what i have accomplished.

The posts will be cut way down, as I am only planning for 8 ft high openings, but 12 foot posts just were not long enough so I had to buy 16 footers...

I also included a pic of the hemlock framing lumber..
