I shoveled another 1-1/2" of snow in my driveway this morning bring our total for the last few days to 24" . Mostly light lake effect snow . I will get the little loader out soon and build a snowhill for my little grandson. The loader has to sit outside but the Tarp Flipper idea I designed has worked out great . It keeps the snow off and all summer keeps the rain off it. I liked it so well that a few weeks ago I built a second design to keep the snow off our motorhome.<img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=531994"/>

Very cool toys! I don't think you're nuts and would love you as a neighbor!

Do you have any pictures of the tarp flippers without the tarps on them? I'd love to see the structure and maybe use the idea for my machine that lives outdoors!

The tarp flipper is just a thin wall steel tubing u frame that attaches to a pivot point held down by a bracket welded to the rear machine fenders on the machine . Easy to remove two pins. I just bolted the tarp to the top edge . On the motorhome the pivot points are held down by the tires with 2x12" boards It has to flippers that flip up from each end and join in the middle . I made a peak piece that bolts them together for strength. Just getting too old to climb on these things and drag a big tarp over them.I'm sorry I don't have any other pics. Since last Wed. I have hand shoveled my driveway all but one morning. Were now at 31" since Wed. Most of it is light fluffy Lake effect and very easy to move around. 6" more for tonight . I probably should take the snowblade off the little tractor and attach the 54" snowblower. I like all this snow.snowblower.jpg

You've explained it very clearly. I've got a good idea of how to build one for my machine now. Thanks!

Hey Waldon, what spout cap actuator are you using on the 54 blower?

It's been a few years ago I ordered the actuator off E-bay , I don't know much about it. I just installed it and it has worked great. I think it might have 4 or 6 " of travel. ? Sorry I can't be more helpful ? The tarp flipper is very basic , just a simple frame that pivots from a lower center point that will roll over the machine . Just add a tarp to it. Mine does not cover the loader arms completely or the bucket. But it does keep the cab and engine free from snow or rain or freezing rain. This photo it had been uncovered during a few snow flurries and got a dusting of snow on it .

AH - HA Finally, overnight we got 8 1/2" of uber-dry powder snow and its still 24F outside. Absolutely ideal condition for clearing the driveway and my new neighbors driveway. I'll be out having fun in about three hours.

I also have four push scoops and over the years have replaced the cutting edges on three of them. I also really enjoy shoveling snow by hand. This was yesterday me enjoying the snow .View attachment 531348

I'll have to ask you Waldon about your sweatshirt?

I live near Leesburg VA so never thought I'd see somebody wearing one in Michigan!

Curious as to the connection?

Always enjoy seeing your tractors and equipment.
