19 inches of snow to plow

Our daughter, son in law and grandson live in Leesburg. A lot more traffic in that area than Northern Michigan, ha,ha.

Thanks for the kind words, I just love puttering in the workshop on all kinds of projects. And I look at winter very positive with 160" of snow a year and it does not melt until April it could be depressing , ha,ha. So I just enjoy it with my little tractors. :thumbsup:

Today I finished shoveling the back shed roof and the workshop roof a second time. Also did part of the garage and part of the house a second time. Now the fun part I get to move it all out back with the baby loader. This is the first time I have used it this winter. It started right up. :thumbsup:

We keep the tractor plugged into a Battery Tender for piece of mind.

I put a new battery in it a few months ago so it turned over great . Over the years I only had to jump it with the charger twice. Today I finally started a dolly project for my 54" snowblower . It is going to be so nice to be able to push this around the front garage by hand when not on the tractor. I should have done this long ago. It seems so nice to be getting all these little projects done after all these years. I should get it done and painted tomorrow.

Follow up to post #28, this thread. I'm extremely glad I went right out on the 16th and did my driveway, the neighbors driveway and our mail boxes. The following day it started to turn warm and by Monday the 18th it was 40F and raining. Monday would have been impossible plowing - like trying to plow half cooked oatmeal.

Right now it is still raining - 42F - and what was a light, fluffy 8.5" on Sat the 16th is now 3" of wet, sloppy snot. And that is rapidly disappearing.

When I plowed on Sat the 16th the snow was fresh fallen, light & fluffy and the temps were still 24F.

We received 14 of snow so far, plowed for 6 hours today. Is still snowing real large flakes. Theres now 6 on the driveway i plowed a few hours ago. Ill be plowing in the morning again

To top it off, we lost power an hour ago. Im so happy i put in the generac generator last year. Im sitting all comfortable in house watching tv....xmas lights outside are on....neighborhood pitch black .

not to get too sidetracked , but what size generator did you put in? did you buy at lowes or other box store? i am starting to look
at one for our home.

i put in a 22kw unit. i install them for a living and got mine thru generac. Actually i got mine for free. Generac has alot of dealer incentives going on at the time, like buy 4 - 22 kw generators and get an 11 kw generator for free. buy 3-22 kw generators and get 3 free transfer switches. stuff like that. After a year buying and of installing 57 generators..... i had a few free generators lying around. i finally decided to get rid of my old 7500 watt manual onan unit and install the 22kw. it totally powers up my nearly 4,000 sf home and also runs the barn (heated water troughs). But mind you i have all gas appliances and gas heat and gas water heater. this unit also runs my hot tub heater so that wont freeze.
