I know full well how to test, repair and refit to a different coil setup. Kettering ignition systems on these old tractors are literally almost 80 years old now... and the technology behind them is almost 30 years older still.
In a previous post ( # 45 ) I said that jaxs could fix it after his rude post to me. Thus I won't be offering any help.. just observing the cooks fighting that have never seen the recipe.
I've got barns full of old tractors. I use old tractors every day. Fords are my specialty. My weekly pasture and right of way mower is a frankenstein ford 950 rowcrop built from many other tractors, and on average, it's a 1955 model. My loader tractor I use to move hay and dirt and lift stuff is another old 1955 ford, an 850. I have green tractors, orange tractors, different orange tractors, a coupe different types red tractors, blue ones, grey ones, etc. Including old ford N with front and side mount ignitions, including custom ignition conversion parts I've made by hand.
I'm happy to share my experiences and help out someone, I've bent over backwards to help others. I've sent custom templated parts and spare parts out, spare manuals, filters, rebuilt parts for charging systems for people.. that's all fine.. I like to help... that is, until the rude comments fly out and hit the floor. When that happens, I'm content to watch people struggle with a non running tractor.
I'd be glad to help once that was addressed.
