1966 John Deere 110 Riding Lawnmower Mystery Tool

Could you post a pic of using that lever the way you think it is supposed to work?

I don't recall having an issue with belts on either my Dad's 1965 round fender 110 or my flat fender later model 110. But changed all that in 1998 when I went to the model 425.

This video may be helpful.

I will try to get one tonight. Like I said, the lever works. Just doesn't seem to go up far enough to be able to just slip the belt on/off due to the handle hitting the bottom of the tractor. I should clarify that the bracket for something is in the way so you can't get passed the lower end of the frame. You still have to get the belt started and then rotate the pulley to get it the rest of the way off. Which is probably what my Dad did. I cannot move the actual lever on the tractor without some sort of leverage.

Video may be helpful down the road when I need to change the belts but, not for the mower deck.
