Of course. Here you go.

The whole reason I ask and started to research this topic specifically, is we have always been missing one of those clamp assemblies for the inner rim to attach to the barrel. I had forgotten, and while putting everything back together I thought I would look into getting a replacement.

Thanks for the pic. The missing clamp looks to be part # A4388R, key 12

jdparts shows this sketch..for the cast wheel

That is the diagram I pulled the part #s from as well.

But what about how mine are installed? As I said, I just put everything back the way I took it apart. I didn't know any different, and didn't question it until I saw that photo of the restored 1020.

Looks ok to me, and the design of the rim and the cast wheel allows for setting wheel widths (spacing) at several different places.
That is necessary for row cropping tractors.
Others may see it differently.

You're correct. IIRC each rear wheel has 4 different width settings plus the rack & pinion tire tread adjustments. IIRC to replace the missing clamp one will need to jack up tire & loosen all clamp bolts so missing clamp can be easily installed. To get tire to run true IE not wobble one needs to set a short 4X4 piece of wood next to tire while rotating tire to determine which bolt requires tightening to get tire to rotate straight. BTDT many times in yrs past

Ok, I am so glad to hear that I do not have to separate the inner rims from the barrels and flip all the mounting hardware around. That is really what I am most concerned about just as a structural issue. I guess if they were like that for 50 years down in Sumner I shouldn't be overly worried. :confused3:

It's been many yrs since i PDI'd new JD tractors but IIRC the clamps can be correctly installed on either side of cast wheel. Is area in photo on cast wheel ""beveled"" where clamp is between cast wheel & rim?

Clamps can go on either side of the cast center, gives more positions. Cast center can also be flipped, dished in or out.

Thank you very much for all your help and knowledge everyone.

Tx Jim, the clamps are beveled, and the center rim is beveled as well in the area you showed. I will 100% need to follow you 4x4 guidance trick, as I did notice a small wobble on one of the rears when I was in high range, 2nd gear making my way out into the pasture.

Thank you very much Zebrafive. As I mentioned, the tractor farmed down in Sumner for 35 years before it came up to live on our small farm, but I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't following a "mistake" by putting everything back together the way it was before the recent work/overhaul/maintenance.
