1970 ford 4000 3cyl diesel adding the HV4902 adapter plate

Hello All. I am very new to tractors and especially hydraulics and have gone with the advice of some of the members here already.

I already ordered Brian's TL from fitrite and already have a 2 SPOOL 8 GPM PRINCE MB21BB5C1 DA VALVE (may replace that valve with the other one with the float feature for the top link) and have
the HV4902 plate.

The reason for this thread is because I am very confused about the hookups for the HV4902 and a 2 spool valve that has a PB port on it... Does the PB port have to be routed back into the 3pt hydraulic reservoir for the 3pt hitch to work properly like in through the fill plug on the rear axle or is the PB port not used and the 3ph hitch will work normally?

Yes that is correct but that plate is not meant for my model per YT site and a couple others. So is it safe to assume that I need not worry about the PB on the valve and the the setup will not interfere with the 3pt system?

Hey soundguy that 2 spool valve you recommended that I acquired, should I have gotten the one with the float function being one of the 2 sides will be used for the top link??

Hmm so I have the wrong plate? Do I need a PB port to have everything work correctly?

If you have a PB valve, you would be matched to a PB plate.

can you use the pb valve on a regular plate.. probably.. I'm not familiar with your valve. JJ can probably help you there. I've seen many PB capable valves that can certaintly be used in non pb specific setups.

Ugg what a headache! I am going to grow old before I figure this all out and get it together correctly.

The HV5902 states it is for models with single-pump hydraulic system how can i tell if I have a single pump or something else?

I'd count them

Live pto, and a pump in the center section, and not one at the bellhousing/ back of the engine, correct?

No pump on a front cover accy drive?

Does your valve have/ show instructions for hooking up in a 2 hose configuration with a downstream load?

You know you will need input.. Leaves one connection for downstream reconnection. Ie, the plate only gives ya 2 hoses to make a looped circuit, out of plate, back into plate.

Not sure if any of this helps you with your HV4902 plate but I put the HV5902 on my (68) 3000. It's the same tractor as yours, just a little smaller. I would go from the (P)-pressure on the Tisco plate to the (In) on the DA valve. Then go (PB)-power beyond from the DA valve to the Tisco PB plate. Then I would take my return from the DA valve to the (T)-tank on the Tisco plate. I have my valve removed right now so I put a bypass hose on.
