I wouldn't expect that truck to do 65 mph when new. They just weren't fast trucks.

When we tow larger stuff home we usually use a piece of pipe just about as long as the chain. You run the chain through the pipe and you don't have to deal with the slack in the chain. The towed vehicle stays a respectful distance behind the towing vehicle. Just something to keep in mind.

HPIM1764.JPG On the front of the truck is a A frame tow bar built to bolt thru the bumper at the factory holes to mount the tow bar. It has a ring on the hitch to go on a pintle hitch. It was built just for these trucks.

Talking to my dad, since we don't need a truck urgently for the farm just yet, I'm going to let this one pass. We can get something newer/more powerful when we're ready instead of wasting time and money getting this thing ready for the farm now. New boards for the bed and other stuff to make it ready starts adding up quickly.
