My "dedicated trailer puller".....for road use,....is actually my 1997 GMC 2500 4x4 Suburban with 392 V-8.
Often referred to a a "South Texas Cadillac".
Fantastic vehicle, and will pass anything but a gas station.
It sits in one of my two barns, only used very occasionally, to pull my 14K equipment trailer.

392??

I’ve never seen that option if its right. I thought a 350/5.7 or a 454/7.4 were the only gas offerings on that vehicle.

'Slow' is good. Talking a road vehicle here, not a race vehicle.

I have a 1997 GMC 2500 Suburban 4x4, in perfect condition, but it is not for sale .....yet.
I too would love to have a manual shift F350, instead of the Suburban, but don't really think that will happen.
I have a 1987 Jeep Wrangler, 5 spd, 6 cyl., in perfect condition also. Also not for sale .....yet.
A 1996 E-320 also, perfect,....not for sale either.

I'd never have a manual Ford pickup again. One was enough (F350 diesel). Ford uses a wonky not adjustable hydraulic slave actuator and you cannot adjust the freeplay so when the clutch wears a bit, it drags and the only alternative is clutch replacement. Never again.

Should be ok. Pretty sure Ford took all manuals out of trucks like 3-4 years ago. Think the only one that really offers it still is dodge, and they may have stopped as well. For personal use and light commercial or even heavy duty, the autos these day just make sense anyways.
