It has nothing to do with being "scorned".

When there are problem E-Bay bidders, they are usually bidders with little or no feedback.
They can really muck up the bidding/selling process.

For example: My VW listing currently has a bidder, with ZERO feedback, and his location is shown as Ghana.

Would YOU want HIM bidding on your thousands of dollars E-Bay item?

I don't want him in the mix, and have blocked him from further bids.
Perhaps you are more trusting than I.
I see a very high probability of him being a scammer.

I will certainly consider an exception to blocking, if a low feedback bidder contacts me first.
I sorta doubt that the Ghanaian will be contacting me for a blocking exception though.

Then again: Perhaps I should hope that he does make contact.
He just may be holding 100's of millions for me,..... from a billion dollar diamond mine sale, by a recently deceased distant relative, who was unknown to me.

I was not serious, hence my smiling emoji

Oops....I got it wrong!
Wrong vehicle!
454 V-8.....7.3 L

That's better!

I've been looking for one. That's the L29 Vortec 7.4L, not 7.3, I think. With the z82 trailering package, it was rated at 10,000 pounds towing capacity, which was huge for an SUV back then.

Thinking of going out to AZ to look for one, drive it home, refresh it, and be good for 10 more years.

I have a 2500 suburban and I’m debating getting rid of it and getting a half ton one. I bought it because it tows better and it does but I have better tow vehicles. The downside is on a fairly limited budget like $5000 or less you can get a lot nicer half ton one.

12 years ago in 2007 I bought a 1993 K1500 with about 43,000 original miles for $6K. (that's the 1/2 ton 4x4 with the 5.7). That was about $2K over blue-book value, however, it was an emergency services vehicle, hence the low miles, and in really good mechanical condition. I have about 130,000 on it now, with only about $1K in repairs over the 12 years. So, $7K for 12 years and it's still worth $1500, even rusted as badly as it is now. I like that the middle seats fold flat. I can put in many 4x8 sheets, 8' lumber, etc... and close the doors. I bought a junk yard 3rd row seat and seat belts, and I can haul 8 people if I want to. It can tow 7K. I have a 7K car hauler. Life is good.

However, I'd like to get the K2500. Even though the K1500 can haul my existing load, you can definitely tell it's there. I'd like more "oomph" and even, perhaps, go up to a 10K trailer.

But I want a rust-free carcass to start with. :)

Mine is rust free but 290k miles. The 2500 comes with upgraded suspension, probably upgraded brakes although I haven’t checked that, bigger motor, and 4l80e transmission. I only keep the front 2 seats in mine to haul more stuff.

Oh, and I'm fond of the 454, too. I had one in a late 70's GMC 3/4 ton pickup with 1 ton axle I got from an RV company that they used to deliver RVs with before the days of contract drivers. That thing had some great, effortless power. Got about 8MPG too!

The vortec 7.4 in the late 90s is much nicer than the late 70's version, so I'm looking for that one in particular. I also like that body style the best.

I’ve never drove a vortec 454 but my 6.5 will pass the older ones and go twice as far on a gallon of fuel. The 6.5s have a bad rap but mine has been a fine truck. My suburban is a vortec 6.0. I’ve never bothered checking the mileage. And vortec 454s are pretty rare. There’s a lot more TBIs.

That Rabbit is the same age as my son. Good luck with the auction.

For the 1997 Suburban, the vortec 7.4 will tow 2500# more than the 6.5 turbo diesel. While the diesel has 20 more ft pounds of torque at 430 VS 410, the 454 has 100 more HP at 290 VS 190.

My truck is pre vortec era being a 1992. But I don’t tow any big loads with my ton truck or my suburban. I bought my 6500 truck for doing that.
