I have a friend that owns a Ferrari model 8586 Articulating tractor. He is need of an oil filter, it has a cartage type filter currently. I'm wondering if any knows of a filter adapter to use a spin-on filter.

Any ideas?

Is there a brand/part number on the existing filter to cross-match?

Otherwise look up by size/thread:

Thanks for the link, I have a phone call into now. He may even join the forum here.

What engine does it use? I think it might be a Lombardini 833 but I'm not entirely sure.

Hopefully he will join the forum today so he can answer directly, I do know it has an air-cooled engine.

Maybe an LDA673

I believe I have found the filter he needs. He would like to convert it to spin on if at all possible. I'll get this link to him, but it would be nice to find one in the USA.

That one uses a cartridge filter. There are plenty of options on this side of the pond.

This is the original part number: ED0021750120-S or 2175-012

I've found only one aftermarket alternative but I don't think you can get those in the US: Hifi Filter SO 8312

Converting to spin on it's not possible. At least with an off the shelf solution.

He would probably need to get some parts machined and hoses for a remote spin on filter solution.

Interestingly enough, the Lombardini 833 that was also fitted in that model, uses a spin on filter.

The LDA 673 uses this odd filter that pretty much only fits on very few Lombardini engines.
