Team,

With Summer upon us I'm putting aside time to finally diagnose this device.
I put a new engine in it last Fall which seems to run well.
The lingering issue is this: The tractor loses power when going uphill. It will bog down and stall the engine if I allow it. If I let off the accelerator the RPM will come back up and we'll continue our slow hill climb.
It doesn't seem to do this in reverse but reverse is so slow it's hard to really tell.
I haven't found a good service manual of the HST system for this old of a tractor. I found one for a 2003 but things seem quite different in there.

Open to any and all suggestion for troubleshooting.
Clean air filter.
Clean fuel filter.
Non-restricted exhaust.
Hydraulic filters were changed over a year ago but am open to flush/fill of hydraulics if that's a good tactic?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like its fine. Thats how hydrostats work. Let off go pedal to maintain the engine RPM. Try a lower gear range
