Pretty sure 8' Crew Cab is only offered in the work truck trim level at for GM. I need to get the SuperCrew/Crew Cab for my family I have an extended cab now and there isn't anywhere near enough room with the car seats and kids needing to be in them up to something like 7 years old.

...

Yes you can get the SuperCab but not the SuperCrew my guess it has something to do with the strength of the frame and the length of it.

Just go to ford.com and select "build & price" to see what is really offered. Standard Cab, Super Cab, not Super Crew. Offered in XL, XLT, and Lariat trim. All with the 2.7EB as base engine.

Consider how long an 8' Super Crew would be? A 6.5' Super Cab is hard enough to park. Its hard enough to get an 8' bed at all in an F-150, few have seen any, I have only seen 1 or 2 XL 8' on dealer lot in many years. Ford is run by good Capitalists so the only reason an 8' Super Crew is not offered is not enough buyers. But apparently plenty of F-250 8' beds are sold.

I saw an F150 the other day that had the rear window right behind the front seats. The guy called it a regular cab. Strangest looking thing I have seen in a long time.

Yep, they do that so you can recline the seat and not have a huge blind spot.

Have the truck a week today. Filled up, hand calculated 22 mpg. Plenty of power-very impressive for only 2.7 liters. Have not towed yet, no input to give there. Truck is very smooth and quiet, comfortable. Sits a little low in the front, may install a leveling kit. I will keep everyone updated as time moves on.

Not trying to sound rude here, but there is no equity to be had in cars. The monies spent in down-payments and notes are not doing much for you but lowering notes and reducing principle, never to be seen again because of rapid depreciation. Be better off investing your money elsewhere. That being said, these trucks have gotten so expensive, the common folks can稚 pay cash. Trucks and cars, unfortunately, are a necessary but bad investment. And you are right-leases on hd trucks are ludicrous, at least in my area.

I agree there isn't equity but having the ability to sell it once paid off and re-coop some of the lost equity is nice. Ford was top on my list but unfortunately for the amount of truck I would be getting the Ram is a wiser choice. I have a friends both with F250 and Ram 2500 the Ram has an overbuilt tranny and braking system compared to the Ford but the drawback is the steel body. Ford held the edge for me because of the aluminum body and that I keep my vehicles for a while. I might be keeping my current truck for a few more years unless something catastrophic happens. Living in the rust belt the aluminum body has its perks.

Only way you can get equity in a vehicle is using it to make a profit and maybe then you would break even.

I had. 2500 Ram with a Cummins. Great truck. Had some little issues with UConnect and backup camera. Powertrain was stout and reliable.
