2001 Model Pricing Impact

Although a lot of us are eagerly awaiting the info on the 4x10 series, which I'm told is due out soon, I have the following notion.

Has anyone bought late in the model year and gotten discounted pricing based on new model introduction?

To say it another way ... for instance, anyone get a break on a 2000 model early in 2001?

The dealer I bought my 4100 from stated that he provided a little better discount because he ordered enough product to get a better discount from Deere. So, he passed along the savings. Another thing that helped with the pricing was that Deere was kind enough to ship all of the tractors to him at the same time instead of spreading them out over the year. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

In this case, I'd imagine he'd be offering the best deals as soon as he received them rather than at the end of the year when his carrying costs would have added up?

Of course, if a replacement model is coming out, he might want to deal to get rid of the old ones.

I bought mine in March right after he received them. His lot was bursting at the seams....

I think my deal was good, 4100 HST, 54" blade,, turf R4 tires for $12.5k or so including tax.

I hope that was a good deal for a 2001?
