2004 DK 50 Heater Blower

So I went to a bunch of local auto parts stores and none of them had squirrel cages for an 8mm rod. So I ordered a 5/16" rodded squirrel cage that was a little longer but the same outer diameter. I was figuring I could drill out the center of the 5/16 to make it 8mm and I would be good. That's the problem when I start thinking.... anyway I didn't take into consideration that the center plastic bushing wasn't the same length. The new part had longer bushings. No fear, I pulled out the heat gun and started modifying the plastic on the 2 new squirrel cages and it worked. It ain't pretty, but with enough washers, and moved around globs of melted plastic, I saved myself $310 and two weeks waiting time.

I put the new squirrel cages on and the air flow is better, but still not great. Is anyone knowledgeable enough to know if they changed the heater configurations after the 2002 model year, and if so, will the new heater fit in the same place? The venting of the heater seems like an afterthought in my system and it would be nice to have a heater that actually blows HEAT on to the front windshield. Or perhaps someone has purchased some sort of aftermarket heater which works better than the one I have???

If you can, post a picture of how it sits in the attic of the cab too. I'll see if I can adapt the newer to the older.

On my CK i notice when I am blowing. I notice that the flow of the fan is not so powerful probably due to snow getting sucked in through the front vents that restrict the air flow to the cab. I have a front mount blower.

That's definitely different than mine, but it looks like have room in my attic for that. I like the idea of the heat coming down in different areas. How's it work for you?

Also, doesn anyone know when Kioti began putting the electric grid (and maybe the rear windshield wiper) in the rear glass? and if that particular rear glass would fit my 2002?

Well, that literally is the polar opposite of mine. I need to turn on the air conditioner with the heater to get it warm enough to defog the glass. After running the tractor full bore for about an hour, then it is hot inside, but otherwise it takes forever. When the fans are on you can barely feel the heat coming out of the vents. i got it thru my dealer. i have the "Kioti tractor workshop manual..its huge View attachment 590724. its been very helpful over the years

Is the tractor workshop manual available anywhere for purchase? I'd pay for a copy. I have a 2009 (engine stamp) though sold as a 2011 BobCat CT-450 which is a badged over Kioti DK50, with cab and I can't get any action out of the fan so no heat. BobCat is uninterested in supporting those tractors (208-2013) so I've been trying to figure things out from the Kioti perspective. Thanks
