2005 TC30 cracked block

With the way NH is with very expensive parts support. This may factor into my next tractor brand purchase. Seems Japan is the sole source for these parts. I was quoted $5000 for rims and tires for my 2120. I guess I'd have to junk it if anything major failed.
I'd call the NH regional rep and explain your position. See if they can help. I'm eyeing the 2420 but all the stuff makes me nervous.

Did the engine seize up? Does it still run well, even though it leaks oil? I would remove engine, inspect, and weld up with Ni-rod if possible. That block is repairable. Dealer should help out, and not just hand you a bill for replacement. :(

if that block is an integral part of the frame, I'd bet it would break again... loaders and hoe's put lotsa stres on tractors..

this is all assuming he could even get it welded.. it might have breaks at internal passageways..

my vote would be fore a salvage engine or a salvage block to build up..

OH man that hurts just looking at it. Not the kind of thing I would wish on my worst enemy.

If it were me it might get parted out.

Did the backhoe have a subframe?

Unfortunately, we have no facts about how this happened.

It'd be nice when people start threads like this if they'd include information such as;

1. Attachments on the tractor.
2. How and when it happened.
3. New or used tractor.
4. How was the tractor being used when it happened.

All too often, this information has to be questioned out of people over several days.

Without such information, no one should jump to conclusions and certainly not base future buying decisions on such threads.

Mike, I here you and I agree. I'm just extremely disappointed in NH parts policy regardless of the post. I think if you say you build a top quality product you should stand behind it by offering inexpensive repair parts. My NH radiator cap cost $40 and that is just ridiculous.

If you build a top quality product, most people shouldn't need repair parts. :D

I agree. Unfortunately, there's no TractorZone (ala AutoZone) that offers aftermarket parts for compact tractors. We're at their (NH, Kubota, JD, etc.) mercy.

How much different is the radiator cap then the ones available at TSC?

I will say this, I have bought parts from Agco, Deere, Case-IH and Ford/New Holland and regardless of brand some parts are cheaper then you would expect. Other parts are way more then you would expect.

I know with Deere on vintage parts if their part supply gets low they raise the price. If they have a lot of parts they keep the price lower.

I heard that. i had to replace a hard fuel line on my 7610s, as well as the fuel tap... the fuel tap was 6-7$ MORE than the hard fuel line... I was expecting to pay out the nose for the fuel line. On the flip side.. hyd parts must have platinum linings or something...

Do you actually think the Japanese parts for Deere or Kubota are any cheaper than Nw Holland? And do you think there are any aftermarket blocks for Kubota or Deere?
