Just to be fair, most any transmission will incur a higher chance of failure once power is added. It's the first thing to absorb the torque shock load behind the engine itself.
No truck manufacturer is going to spend more money, even if it's $5 to add more clutch material or a bigger TC to make sure the customer can go add 200HP and still have the tranny hold together as reliably as one behind a stock motor. No, the board of directors won't like the way that affects "the bottom line".
I've seen all brands cracked open on my buddies transmission shop rebuild tables from too much torque.
You can blast apart any size trans from adding too much power.
