2013 Hay Season

Nice. We cut 30 acres yesterday. Last cutting for the year. Have to our cover crop in. We are behind for sure.

That was my 2nd. Some years we get 3 cuttings. It just depends on moisture and grazing. I like to graze it instead of burning diesel. I have some more standing but I am going to feed it out.

Hope to bale up that pasture this evening before the dew hits.

Cover crop seed should be in on TH. They keep forgetting to put it on the truck.

Putting it down with your no-till drill? What are you seeding?

It is hard to keep up. I had a buddy come help me with the hay. I might have him plant also - just buried.

I had a custom mix done. I'll have to see what we ended up with.

Hope you do get it all done and the weather doesn't interfere. Pretty weird out here in Tyler lately. Rain here, rain there... humid. Need this system to move on through and bring fall in for reals.

We're already in October, and I still don't have enough grass to justify a second cutting.

Looks like the 99 rolls from the first (and only) cutting this year might be it.

But, just think of the diesel fuel and hay string that I'm saving.

Nice, Lou! This late rate / warm weather combo has made for some beautiful country landscapes!

My pastures look like they did back in May right now!
