The Ram heavy duty trucks 3/4 and the one ton are assembled in Saltillo Mexico.
Well I have 2007 Silverado with a 5.3 AFM engine that uses 1 qt of oil every 2k miles. GM's response is to claim that is acceptable oil consumption. Don't pat them on the back too hard.
Your are correct. Chrysler closed the Ram truck assembly plant along with the Caravan plant located in Fenton, MO. I owned a log home about 15 min from the plant's location. It was a devastating affect to the area. Thousand's were out of jobs. The Ram truck went to Mexico and the van to Canada. Two of Chrysler's top sellers left the states. The plant is now leveled and the property is for sale. The Ram heavy duty trucks 3/4 and the one ton are assembled in Saltilo Mexico.
I was just about to post this. Glad the #1 GM fan beat me to the punch. I KNOW your gonna have some fun with this.
At least that's better than what VW did back in the 1970s with the Rabbits they just put a line in the owners manual that said that 500 miles per quart was to be considered (Normal) on a brand new car-Well I have 2007 Silverado with a 5.3 AFM engine that uses 1 qt of oil every 2k miles. I guess you can't call them USA made any more.
I actually just got it as a email alert through my Car & Driver mag. I have no issue with recalls. About half the vehicles I have owned have had a recall. That means you are taking responsibility. When they claim there is no issue, that's another story. Chris
And here I thought Ft.Wayne, Ind. was in the USA!
