That will void powertrain warranty... No thanks.
Warranty is only as good as the company and dealer. My experience with GM dealers in this area is the warranty is about worthless.

Since 2011, all ford F150 with the 5.0, 3.5 TT, 3.5 NA and the 3.7 have EPS. The F150 with the 6.2 had the old hydraulic power steering.

I know because my Raptor has hydraulic and my ecoboost has EPS. Honestly, I would only get the hydraulic if running a snow plow. Ford's EPS is really nothing to worry about. I have used it hard and it's perfectly fine.

When I bought the new LC 200, 5.7 last month, my wife demanded I buy the best extended warranty, so it's covered "bumper to bumper" for 7 years or 125k. Personally I wouldn't have bought it...but I don't worry now... I made a very good deal so didn't push back.

I have a 2014 GMC 1500 with the 5.3 liter and of course with the AFM. Have had zero problems with the AFM , or any part for that matter (knock on wood) , it is seamless and no oil problems either. As for being a "gimmick" well it gives great gas mileage better than my Ram did and better than my Son in law's Ford Ecobuost

What causes AFM to burn oil.

The oil gets passed through the pcv system, plugs up pcv system, starts using oil. The high mileage units seem to all suffer from it.
I wonder if that's what happened to my 5.3 suburban. I went from using no oil to burning 2 1/2 quarts over 5k miles. What would have fix it...

Many are adding catch cans to the pcv system. But once it starts it cant stop... rings are toast.

The PVC system and crankcase pressure can be monitored with a $2.00 shop made water manometer. Check the manual to determine what the pressure should be.

I have 16' Tundra 5.7 double cab, 4x4, tow package, all the whistles....... I started out with a 13' Tacoma 4wd 6spd, was a little too small for me, but a great truck. Moved onto a 14' Tundra double cab 4.7 4x4 liked that truck 21mpg. Now I have the 16' tundra, LOVE THIS TRUCK!

I tow my 22' Pilot house boat (4300lbs), tow my 20' PJ'S deckover (3600 empty, 5800 loaded with the compact tractor and mower). No complaints at all, just waiting for Toyota to come out with their diesel some day.
