2015 Hay Season

   / 2015 Hay Season #301
Just put up 920 small squares on 5 acres this week. My MF #9 got a workout since the windrows were done with a twin rotor rake over 20' wide. Very happy with the way it's worked so far this year.

Hey foreman did you ever come up with a part# for the upgrade kit? I guess I jinxed myself talking about my good luck with belts...I have an outer belt that started to rip at the seam yesterday , but guess I ve got about 600 rolls before ripping.I think it was due to the stupid tailgate not latching good and I didnt catch it before continuing to roll... im sure you know what im talking about, if not lucky you!! its hard to see back there with the limo tint! Oh well I'll re-splice tomorrow and hopefully wont have any more trouble . We rolled 54 bales off 11.5 acres yesterday...seems crazy to me. Ive never got over 4.5 bales p/acre.

I stuck it there with the the other two pics on post 294. I made it a habit before I start baling to kick it on and raise door and shut it cause it has got me more than once.

I hauled hay all day it was hot everytime got in cab and by the time I loaded it got comfortable then jump back in truck for 10mile trip then get to that tractor same thing over and over for 9 loads.
I could haul 13rolls and even my trips out and you would know I put one roll on top the neck and had a blow out and guess what. Yep I couldn't get to the spare tire,so I drove it 3 miles like that, lol.

Sounds like a good yield. Man I don't miss the square bale days in high school guess that's why I stay far away from my in-laws this time of year cause more than once have I got suckered into loading and unloading

I do the same thing. I also manually run the string tie arms a full cycle. Then restart monitor. Just to make sure everything is running. I've had the arms not extend because of loose connections. This helps with that one first bail.

I was jumping back and forth on rake tractor and baler tractor and lucky I caught that my monitor had set there long enough that it shut off. I have gotten so use to just wait for the first beeps before I pay attention to my bale size and from doing it so much"in my head" I was like it should be going off,so I looked over. My monitor hasn't been mounted yet in the New Holland cause my setup is in the Kubota

Lol I listen for that beep too usually im turned around checking my windrow making sure all is well... until I hear the beep. We rolled up anohter 50 bales today and I was having problems with grass build up on a couple of the rollers(under the belts and near the bearings). Do you have any idea how to prevent that much hay build up? Did those hay wegdes fix all of your hay build up probems?
