George - That is one fine looking truck. I would love to have a 2500 myself.

If you end up getting around 14 mpg hand calculated mileage consistently out of that truck I would be tickled too for the capability a 2500 gasser has... 14 mpg is quite respectable and better than what most are seeing on fuelly.

I bought a used 2011 about 2 months ago, almost identical except mine is extended cab and 3.73 gears. I like everything about it except the fuel mileage, I'm getting about 13 mpg.
Your truck looks great, enjoy.

I will check into that.
I hope I didn't break any rules by asking questions on George 2615 thread.
Not sure on some rules/protocol still. Let me know if I did.

Al

No problem here Al. I may read something useful that I can use.

George: Fantastic set up! I think you have made wise investments as now you can SAFELY transport your equipment and materials. You can not afford to skimp on safe transport. Guess we will never see photos of your set up in the thread 'Photo's of people towing...'

Thanks, I'm trying my best to avoid having my pics posted in that thread.

I'll be keeping an eye on MPG. Once it gets broke in I'll start checking and comparing to the computers average MPG.

George 2615; Tkx for the heads up on gas mileage. We have gave up on getting good gas mileage on larger rigs. It is hard to win so when we need the truck we use it. When we feel the need for gas mileage we use the Jetta. That is the only way it works for us. This truck will have the regular 5.3 engine. The flexfuel engine was dropped as it is not a option with the LTZ package. I thought that was strange.

Al

I also have a Jeep and an Equinox to drive that get far better MPG for the short trips I need to make.

Almost every thread gets a little sidetracked. Not a problem and people rarely take offense.
