I'd respectfully argue that the money is much bigger now then compared to the 70's and 80's.
Perhaps I got my attitude when the guy from New England took over at PSU and the jumped ship to the Texans.
That said, I do think Chip Kelly (sp?) is a prime example of the differences between coaching college and coaching "professionals".
In the old days there was not much difference in being worshipped in Ohio or Michigan, there was little reason to change schools. I do not blame a guy for taking a job with a million dollar raise. The semi pro world of college football is far from a game played for school spirit
