2019 ford ranger review....

Just comparing its ride to the Taco, it much more like a car, than the truck its expected to be. It is indeed fun..

I ordered a supercab Ranger in silver STX with a few options, they just called and let me know it's in.. Heading there in AM.. Love my eco boost 3.5 in my SHO, it has been flawless and lots of fun to drive..

Please write us a report, after you put some mileage on. We got the superC for the dogs and groceries, plus we do like the 6ft box.

I will takes pictures. I think they are a little conservative as far as looks go, I like the looks of the new Tacoma better but the Ford rides better and handles better, I also like the eco boost engines better than any other gasser.. Plus I have a local Ford dealer that has a fantastic service dept that I have been going to for years 10 miles away...

Has anyone seen the saber color on the 2019 Ranger Sport. Is it tend to be more orange or more brown? No dealer around here has one.
I looked at the Ridgeline, Colorado and the Ranger in one day and the Ranger impressed me most.
What kind of year end discounts are your dealers giving?

Don, We got a couple of year-end discounts from Ford which totaled to about $1000. If you know anyone who happens to work for Ford, you might be able to get another $1000 off. Hope that helps.

Yes, I'm just trying to decide on the 2019 year end discounts or get the 2020 and go through Costco. I'm thinking the year-end will save me the most money - just trying to figure it all out. No big hurry to sell my '08 F150.

For people with mutts. We added a platform across the rear floor to give them a level platform to be on. More photos can be had on the dogs blog. here

Drove my 1997 Ranger for a couple days while dealer was doing second warranty oil pan replacement on my 2016 F150.

Waiting for paperwork to be finished I sat in a new Ranger yesterday. I have height issues in vehicles. They has raised the roof again (shortened in 2004). But now front of roof comes down a little putting the front edge was at my eye level. Nice little truck but I will stick with the space in my F150.

txdon: The Costco program gets a decent discount but you have physically go the specific dealer to get the Costco price sheet. Just bought a 2019 Forester for my wife. Did all the dealer comparison and price negations by email and phone. The dealer could no send the Costco price by email but still quoted $1000 less then the other dealers.

The saber is an orange or burnt orange color.

That is a concern for me also. The crew cab, with the seat back folded down, is far from flat and when the seat bottom is up it is not flat on the floor either. A set-up like yours will also be needed on the crew cab seats for comfy pet transport

Is the front tire in the way when you need to change the oil filter. Is the access panel easily removed?

How is the safety technology package working out.

It looks like you had a blast camping, still too hot in Texas.

Thanks for the info, might have to go with the white which they have in stock, the Saber one is still two weeks from being delivered to the Costco dealer.
The Costco dealer would not give any price info at all, like you said you have to go to the dealership to get it, and I have to pass 10 other Ford dealers to get to the other side of Austin and HYW 35 is always a mess, probably an hour drive on a good day and still can't see the color in person. Not real enthused and the '08 is looking better, but the 5K of year end discounts from sticker price (before Costco pricing) keep sparking my interest.

Hey Arly, nice truck! Looks a whole lot like the one my dad just bought:

He likes it so far, not many miles yet. Pretty dang expensive, but it's exactly what he wanted.

I've not looked at the removable panel for oil changes and not likely I will ever do that. We purchased the service agreement with our dealership. Having spent years working on or with atv's, UTV's and sleds where removing panels for service is normal so that's not going to bother me on this machine.

We only got a few hundred miles on this machine so far but I have got to appreciate that rear camera which makes hooking up a trailer a breeze! Or backing into any space for that matter. The corner radars have been nice in traffic as well. I'm not really a technology loving guy but I must admit, this truck has got me warmed up to it.

It sounds like you're happy so far. I was at the Toyota dealer today having my company truck appraised, so looked at a few new and used pickups. They had a 2018 Tacoma 2WD with 90K miles on it. The asking price was $18K... I left before I could have a heart attack.

I may be overly conservative and tend not wrote glowing product reviews, especially in the early stages of ownership. We are very, very happy with this ford product at this time but let me add. The only Ford we've owned was the 1987 F150 that we sold a couple of years ago that was gifted us from my father-in-law. We didn't like driving it, got terrible fuel mileage and couldn't be used 6 months out of the year. Yes, we get snow here. Then we then got the 2017 Taco and put 25K of miles on it in two years. This 2019 Ranger is a step up, from that machine.

What is supposed to be so special about these to make them command such pricing? Don't think I've ever read a review that had much nice to say about them...even in Consumer Reports, whose charter forbids them from saying anything bad about toyotas. I don't see a disproportionate number of old ones around either, and if the quality/durability is anything like the turdra I had for a company truck at my last job that ain't much of a plus either.

ISTR they had kind of a cult following with the mud kiddies back in the 80s, but any off roaders I know today have either Chevys or Jeeps.
I don't get it.
