Hey Guys.

Looks like I am buying a CK27HST. :)
It is probably too much tractor for my needs but it will most certainly pull the subsoiler I want to use and it is questionable on the CK20. Not only that but it is so much more machine for not a lot more money. I am currently talking to a couple dealers about what I need from them to make the deal happen and Im ready to sign on the dotted line.

CK27 is a fine tractor and value. I'd still go for a CK20 myself with only 1/2 acre. I cannot imagine it would have trouble with a subsoiler. With only 1/2 acre even if you need to run it twice that would only take an extra hour. The 20 is more compact and uses more compact implements. Think about storage and maneuverability too as those are important always.

I did contact everything attachments about the subsoiler and they seemed to think the 20 will not do it. They do use the cat version of that machine in their demos. I have also seen the subsoiler on a 26hp kubota and it barely clears the ground in the full up position. Yes for most things the 27 is way overkill. I understand it won't be as nimble. As far as storage goes, since the 27 has the quick release bucket it will take up about as much room in my shop with bucket removed as the 20 will with the bucket on.
From my perspective looking at the two machines side by side, the 27 is so much bigger.

I agree with Island Tractor, nothing wrong with the 27, just much larger than the 20. I don't think the CAT version will pull like the 20 just because of the weight of the Kioti line. By no means trying to tell you what to do, but I would ask the dealer to let you hook a subsoiler to a 20 and give it a try. It will save money and you can move the 20 much easier on 1\2 acre - vs the larger framed tractor.

Good Luck!! and Have Fun!!

Thanks guys. :)

I was under the impression the cat was the exact copy only different paint and loader. Maybe I'm wrong. Again. :)

Common guys. Talk me into the 27. Lol
I respect and appreciate the advise guys. Really. I am just a "Bigger is better" type of guy. I'm a big fat bastard too and the 27 fits me better.

Your last post made my day. I had a good laugh and that is why I still get up in the morning. Your added weight will make for better pullin. And you are right the Bobcat is the same as the CK20. Bigger is not better all the time. Even with 10 acres I love my 20 in tight areas, I have only wished a few times in 4 years that I purchased the CK30.

Hahaha. Ya. No loaded tires necessary. I'm 6'2" 280.
Stop trying to talk me out of spending money. :)
Truth is, we are not made of money. Either tractor would be a substantial investment to me. When I look at the price in terms of monthly payments I see little difference. Physically there is a huge difference. It's a hard decision for me but I know with the 27 I will not have regrets. My place is open with no trees. Lots of turning room.

I am with you i am usually a bigger is better guy as well, I drive a 1800 cc motorcycle and commute to work an hour away in a gmc suburban, but after weighing the pros and cons of the two different sized chassis for me the the ck20 just made more sense. I want to be able to tow it with either of my suvs,i want to be able to get down my fairly tight trails in the bush ,I like that the attachments (bush hog, wood chipper, blower, tilleretc)are just expensive rather then prohibitively expensive. I also like that it fits in my garage.
You will be happy with either machine, good luck with your purchase........Craig

I'm just looking at the specs here. Ck27 thru 35 all have the same dimensions. Weird. It shows the 35 @ about 50 lbs lighter than the 27. What's up with that?
With ROPS down, I won't have any problem getting in a 7' high door will I?

Thanks.
